Re: Megabass Orochi XX... What’s next for the USDM??
yep hate the acs I actually like the ACS seat myself, so much so that a few of my customs have it. But they are much harder to sell if/when that time comes, so now I almost invariably go with the good old ECS on my custom builds(though the PTS seat has my attention now). The Fuji SK seat is the mos...

Re: Lamiglas Infinity bass blanks
The 2 Infinity customs I have are extremely sensitive. I would say they are on par with the GLX blanks and more sensitive than the UMBX blanks I have fished. I wish I could find more of them.

Re: TD SOL TW SV
Can anyone who has seen one in person confirm if the purple parts come stock on the reel? I'm thinking not, but if not, then is this the same as the SLP Works 1016SV spool? And where did the purple cc cap come from?:-k 3 colour variants marking the various retrieve ratios. Thanks, that makes perfec...

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!
Here's my el cheapo bfs set-up.... Fuego CT with Zaion star, 80mm handle (suits me for light work), silver handle nut and pawl cover. Using parts I had on hand from other reel builds, I don't even have the full retail cost of the reel in it lol! Can't wait to see if it performs as well as looks. htt...

Re: CF handle color?
I have actually seen silver and gold ones before on those cheap Chinese reels on Aliexpress, so colors are possible. That being said, it would likely be cost-prohibitive to get a one-off custom color handle made.jmd_143 wrote:Not that this helps, but I have yet to see one ever. Not saying it couldn’t be done...

Re: Drag stars for pixy type R?
Im pretty sure just about any Daiwa star will fit it. Almost any clicking drag star will work, though most will leave quite a gap underneath, where it overlaps the protrusion of the sideplate. I have a Steez SV star on mine.....it kind of steps down at the farthest edge, just like the stock PX-R st...

I had the 7' Heavy from the same era as yours and it was a very nice rod. I sold it because the grip was so fat that my hand didn't sit right. At the time, I wasnt sure if that rubberized cork could be turned down to be thinner.....I wish I had kept it.

Re: Looking for my first 2 baitcaster!
You just cant beat the simplicity of Daiwa's Magforce in combination with the SV spool. Once dialed in, they are nearly impossible to backlash, even while pitching and skipping. The Tatula SV in 7.3:1 gears would be great for all-around use and the 8.1:1 is great for bottom-contact and pitching/flip...

Heck even Duckett Went back to using genuine Fugi ECS reel seats. anyone know what seat was on the 3D? My 3D's are fine but boring lookin...
