Re: Megabass levante

F52DDF73-ACCC-4262-93B2-79E0E0531F77.jpeg Really great looking and feeling sticks. In hand, they felt more relative to the XX rods than the previous gen. One difference, though, was the AKLYS felt lighter overall but not as balanced as the XX version. But it wasn’t bad for a 7’10” rod of that kinda...

Re: Megabass levante

Got my hands on a bunch of these today, and I’m quite impressed! Massive improvement over the first generation. Too bad my pitiful tax return didn’t come this past week, or of have bought at least one!

Re: Megabass levante

If the sticks show up at a dealer in Ohio by the end of the month I’ll definitely share my thoughts.

Re: OROCHI vs Orochi

I can only compare the Perfect Pitch models, but with limited time on the gen 2 version at that. The gen 2 PP has a slightly deeper flex and slightly less power than the gen 1 version. It seems more of a JDM power and taper than the original. That said, it’s going to be different for everybody wheth...

Re: Braillist Rod From Megabass

Will there be a retail area in the PA facility?? I do not believe so. What? I’m in Pittsburgh! Hopefully a local shop carries the full line if they won’t have a retail space. One Field & Stream nearby had some Levante rods long after they were released, and now they barely even carry MB lures. Wait...

Re: Megabass levante

I was wondering if they’d update the Levante line and actually make them worthwhile. I was skeptical, but now I’m kind of excited! Can’t wait to get a peek at their design.

Re: First look at new Megabass Orochi XX rods

Got a gen 2 Perfect Pitch yesterday and though I haven’t had it on the water yet, it’s a different stick. I’m a bit surprised by how less powerful it feels, and how deeper the tip flexes compared to the original. I definitely understand the difference in lure ratings now. The usual quality and craft...

Re: Sunline Xplasma Asegai

I don’t see the light green in 30lb?

Also, can you link the Paulus site?

Thanks for doing these tests, have you done Sunline SX1?

Re: Sunline Xplasma Asegai

So if you're looking for a line that is as thick as most 20 lbs braid, I suggest you give the 30 lbs Xplasma a try since the 18 lbs is as thin as most 10 lbs braid. Xplasma Asegai is similar to fused fireline 8 ultra. So if you are not a fan of stiff and wiry line, you might not like it. Personally...

Re: Sunline Xplasma Asegai

Thanks for that info. The size is interesting, as that’s actually between most brands 20-30lb sizes. I was thinking about trying some of the light green but wanted 30lb. Looks like they only make it up to 18lb, but if the diameter is bigger than stated I might try it.

Re: Looking for first megabass rod please help

The Orochi XX Perfect Pitch is the rod I’d choose, though I can’t speak for the current version yet. I’m assuming the new generation is at least somewhat similar. Or you could try to find a used gen one. It should handle weightless senkos and all of the topwater lures you mentioned. It’s a beast of ...
