Re: Need t-rig rod sub $200. Suggestions?
After much research and searching tackletour, and a few phone calls, I managed to find TWO 13 Fishing Omen Black rods on sale within an hours' drive. I bought two of them for $165! :) 7'1" MH Omen Black, to replace the broken 7'3" Verdict. Good upgrade it seems. This one is for 1/4-1/2oz t-rigs and...

Re: Help me choose: Curado or Revo s (the new white one)?
i have owned and fished a second-generation revo S and i just recently sold a new third-generation revo S (the white one) that i never even spooled with line. i've also had many curados. if your main concern is throwing lighter baits, the curado will do it better. however, i'd also pick the curado ...

Re: Need t-rig rod sub $200. Suggestions?
Also, what are your opinions on the Crucial or Compre line? Crucial 7'2" Worm/Jig rod: CRCX72MHA - $150 locally Compre 7'2" Worm/Jig rod: CPC72MHC - $110 locally Own the MH/XF Crucial in that length,..good sensitivity, but I find it a little tip heavy, that is my main complaint. Other than that a g...

Re: Bait Cast Worm & Jig Rod under $100
My experience in this range is the MH/F Veritas 7'3". It is a solid rod and has good enough sensitivity for using bottom contact baits. I also own two Compres and in compairson, I find they are both about equal with the exception that the Veritas power rating isn't the same as the Compre. For exampl...

Re: defective blank loomis glx 783-2c ?
At first glance it looks odd to me too. Then noticed it looks like it was part of how they put it together. I noticed it on my GLX 853C. Looks the same spiral, never bothered to ask for a definitive answer.

Re: Phenix M1 7'8 H/XF
Thanks for the advice all, I will go up the next level.
I was thinking it would work because of the softer tip. Ah oh well!

Phenix M1 7'8 H/XF
Does anyone know if this rod can be used as a punching rod? I'm in the market for one and was finally thinking of trying one of these Phenix lines. If, not the other option i have is buying a used Kistler Z-Bone LE 7'6" H/Moderate Fast. Anyone know if this would be good enough to punch mats?

Re: GLX 853 or 893
Just get ready the 893's are like potato chips you can't just have one. Ha, well I decided two get two rods instead of one. You are totally right, I bought the 853 for the lighter stuff and bought an 894 now (got a great deal). I just couldn't just have one! Now I'm contemplating on getting another...

Re: Daiwa Zillion Rod and Fuego
It is a local tackle shop up here in Ontario, Canada. In Kitchener, Ontario - Natural Sports. I mean it looks nice, but I just don't know if I'd ever use a spinning rod at the power/action since I have several BCs in that range. lol Still, it looks like a great deal. So I'm mulling it. If you live n...

Re: Daiwa Zillion Rod and Fuego
To add I am newbie when it comes to Daiwa Rods and reels. I do own 2 Lexas and 1 low end T Rod for top water, but thats my extent in owning Daiwa specifically for bass.

Daiwa Zillion Rod and Fuego
I just saw one for 110 (Fuego) and 159 (Zillion). They were MH/XF for the fuego 7' and a 7' XH Zillion. They are on clearance, I was wondering are these two prices too good to pass on? I really wouldn't know what I would use each for, but they look like nice rods and felt good. Curious on what would...

Re: Shimano Crucial rod and its reel seat
That is interesting, I have had no issues with it loosening. I own Crucials, Compres and a Clarus never had a single problem with it getting loose. Now the one that drives me nuts the most are the Veritas screw down and the like, I have problems sometimes placing/removing reels on them.

GLX 853 or 893
So I'm ready to take the plunge for my first G Loomis rod after holding a GLX in store today. I was really looking for a Cumara, but when I saw the new GLX..it was like it was calling to me. Once I held that bad boy, it was like it was made for me and it felt natural. The guy even showed me th...
