Re: **Giving the IS 63 RI some love**

That paint just glows. Very nice!
Slp has some shiny blue pearl knobs that would look killer on there.

Nope but I'm interested in this one as well.. Looks like it'd be a nice short range spinnerbait rod.

Re: Mojo bass question

I'm betting it's that ridiculously thin and short handle causing the discomfort. I've had the 7'mh mojo for a short time, never could get comfortable with that grip..

Re: 103hl handle play

I've seen that happen if the shim at the base of the driveshaft is worn or lost.. Happens with fuegos & tdzs once the small felt spacer under the shaft is worn aswell.. Don't recall whether the steez has a shim or felt pad under the shafts but that's where I'd start troubleshooting.

Re: current daiwa reel seat closest to old tds?

I'm with ya on that. Loved the old lt & tds rods, especially the handles. They're some of the most comfortable I've ever fished. The steez air beam seats are comfortable but shaped much differently than the tds seats are. They're more rounded, there's no blank contact and they lack the flared edges ...

Re: Daiwa SV103XSL cast control cap?

Don't know about any non clicking cap options.
The clicking cc caps from hedgehog or slp will fit although it requires a rubber o ring installed on top of the existing one.

Casting technique prolly has a bigger effect on the results than we're taking into account here. :-k

Re: Should I sell my SV spools?

If you were only going to bomb 1+ oz lures, an sv spool is not a good choice. It's a control spool, not to say that it can't bomb heavy lures, you can fish cranks on a flipping stick, but there are much better options. 1oz and up you'd be better off with a Zillion hlc or a Z2020/200.

Re: SS SV upgrades

A steez front plate looks nice on the ss sv.. Zaion dragstar or a steez star. Longer handle maybe.. The cast cap can be swapped out too but it requires a second o ring to fit properly.

Re: Auction site gems

Seller hasn't had much activity, but if this shows up at all and in 1 piece, I am happy :big grin: . Been looking for one for awhile now. I was the only bidder which makes me worry a bit. Picked it up for $75. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Daiwa-Cielo-Casting-Rod-/232300430792?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPa...

I'd pick an SV103.. It can do just about anything from finesse to frogs.
