Re: Shimano Zodias

Was able to really test the Zodias today. I went to a private lake known for cast and catch 1-2 lbs bass average, huge sunfish, and big smiles. Probably landed at least 40 fish. I threw a 3/16 oz T-rig worm, small crankbait, spinnerbait, lunker hunt pocket frog, and a drop shot. Caught fish on all t...

Re: Shimano Zodias

I finally fished my 7' MH spinning Rod today for a few hours at a local pond. I love it. I have it paired with Quantum smoke speed freak 25 size reel and 20lbs power pro. Over all this is a multipurpose spinning Rod imo. The tip has a nice action for working baits and backbone seems to settle in jus...

Re: Tenkara

I started Tenkara this season. I have a 12' Iwana with the 9'3" conversion handle, a 12' Yamame, both from Tenkara USA, and a Nissin Zerosum 360 7/3. The TUSA rods are good, but I'd say the Nissin is in a different league, totally flawless, which as a JDM rod is to be expected. It's lighter, better...

Re: Line watching and casting distance with Senkos

A lot of my weightless senko fishing is not super distant. That being said it depends on the conditions and where I'm at obviously. To me the most important aspect for me is line watching to be successful no matter the distance. Fast retrieve reels have helped me as well in Being able to get line in...

Re: NRX 873 or 894

I have the NRX 873 and love it for pretty much most single hook bass presentations. Very versatile and powerful. Jigs, Texas rigs, spinnerbaits, buzz baits, weightless senkos, and paddle tail swimbaits. I inquired once about the 894 with The HookUp Tackle. Was told that since I have the 873 the 894 ...

Re: NRX 916 or 895?

I agree about the tip heavy part. Honestly though, paired mine with the new curado and love the overall feel. Flipped for about 4 hours straight of a 10 hour day with no fatigue from the combo.

Re: NRX 916 or 895?

So happy with my 895c! Broke it in flipping jigs on timber at Lake Fork. First fish was around 6lbs. Rod is powerful, has tip and not a broomstick. Really think this is my new favorite rod. Highly recommended.
