Re: Curado 200g

Is there a guide or primer to the various curado models out there in internet-land anywhere... Stopped by a local shop and put my hands on these and the Chonarchs... And remembered why I went away from Shimano (well one of the reasons, the other being lesser LH options over the past few years) in t...

Re: Shimano Rebate information?/

hmm...picked up 3, one of each ratio, local dealer so should be no issues with rebate. $20 off to begin with and $30 more makes $50 off ea kinda a no brainer, really. At least to me. Add the 50e Curado I picked picked up in the swap shop and I am good to go, hopefully

Re: Got my TW Fuego in.

1500A - So what are the three white washers for...in the ziplock bag? It explains in the manual, but it is to adjust the way the line lays on the spool. It depends on the type of line, ie. fluro, mono, braid. cjtoad - you could also add a drag bearing too. Ahh ok. I looked at the foldout, but not c...

Re: Daiwa Fuego 150A

similar to ah_long, I have two coming and will pair up one with a Kistler MGTBWWMH610S with 15# braid and fluoro leader for tube baits, weightless worms, small jigs, etc. The other will go on a Kistler MGDSFWML69S with light braid on one spool and 4-6 mono on the other, and get used for drop shot, ...

Re: Curado 200g

I'm 3 hours away so the trade in never works for me, I'd lose in gas what I'd pickup in trade $$. it's a shame because I have several old reels I could pony up. We have two Gander Mtn's here (which are pretty pathetic by comparison) but no BPS (or Cabelas). We typically go to Orlando once or twice a...

Re: Got my TW Fuego in.

Ordered two 1500's since they are out of the 2000 model...think I will post up a swap thread to see if someone who bought a 2000 wants to swap spare spools also - seems like a good plan to have one ea 1500/2000 spool for different line choices... I seen that they were out of stock in the 2000 size ...

Re: ipt - 26 vs 29 real world difference...

Just to bring this full circle, I decided to keep a few 7.1:1 (31ipt) Citori's for now, mixed in with the Carbonlites (26ipt). I'll just keep watch for a good deal to update the Citori's...

MIght even just upgrade gears on one of the Cl's for the heck of it, see how it does...

Re: ipt - 26 vs 29 real world difference...

Specs show that last years gold color Carbonlite 6.4:1 ratio reel has an IPT of 29", and the new 2012 model's 7.1:1 ratio model also showsIPT at 29", while the new model 6.4:1 shows an IPT of 26"........ :-k :-k :-k :-k :-k Yeah that is a pretty "infamous" misprint, I can't believe BPS never bother...

Re: Fuego 2000 or 3000 ?

I had a Fuego 3000A, and while smaller than you would expect I also feel it's a bit large for bass, unless perhaps you prefer spinning rigs over b/c's for worming and jigging, etc. It would probably match up ok with a MH or H 7ft+ rod esp if using heavy mono or flouro, where the larger spool diamete...

Is there a guide or primer to the various curado models out there in internet-land anywhere... Thinking about picking up a few, had a 201B years ago and loved it, but at the time I wasn't really in a place to be buying reels at that price point (think starving student haha). Anyway after the B era a...

Re: ipt - 26 vs 29 real world difference...

78Staff why don't you just get the new Johnny Morris Carbonlite in the higher gear ratio The 2012 Johnny Morris Carbonlite is available in a 7.1 ratio with a claimed IPT of 29". Problem solved. Not quite, I am looking at LH models, both new and old Carbonlites are only available in 6.4 ratio for Le...

Re: ipt - 26 vs 29 real world difference...

Yeah I'm tending to agree, I'm think I'm going to stick with my Citori 7.1:1 on my plastics/jig rods, they are 31 ipt and it's easy to tell the difference over the 26", plus they have more drag power over the CL/PQ's. However the Carbonlites (and my one PQ) just seem to cast so much better. I might ...
