Re: Sunline Xplasma Asegai

I've had 16 lb on my Steez CT SV for the season, and the coating has caused some dig in issues. I regularly use 10 - 15 lb braid on Daiwa & Shimano casting reels with no dig in issues. Just an observation. There's some fading on the light green, but I've had zero break offs. It's nice not having an...

Re: NRX 901 SJR Special Run

As a hobby builder the regular nrx guides even with leaders is as big as I’d ever go.

Re: What's your favorite NRX and why ?

With the 893 I can damn near do everything with that rod. I’ll take 4 of those and 2 894 and I’d be set honestly minus finesse and some other niche techniques.

Aren’t the guides larger on the inshore models? Thought I read that in the past

Re: Dobyns xtasy or kistler zbone

A little off the topic but have you compared the xtasy and zbone to a nrx?

The reason I’ve been looking at these 2 is I’ve been unhappy with the quality of finished product with the NRX. However no one can argue the sensitivity.

I’ll be mounting a met mgl

Dobyns xtasy or kistler zbone

Anyone have insight on these two series side by side? I’m intrigued by both with the dobyns surprisingly having more of my interest but it’s hard to look past the USA made zbone.

Re: Falcon Cara Head Turner Casting Rod

Every rod is now outsourced except the cara. Word is when they release the new cara line they will also be outsourced. I wish I could source the 6’10 rod blanks to build on.

Re: G Loomis Build Quality

I just got a 893 and posted pictures on their Facebook page mine is much worse than yours. Every guide wrap is crap and the epoxy work coming from someone who builds rods looks like they sent it out after only one application of finish
