This is a great thread. Such an interesting read. Glad it was bumped back to the top of the board.
Without a doubt my favorite MB rod is the Phase 3 Nautilus. Such a unique, versatile, sensitive rod. Seems like no matter what I fish with it the rod handles it very well!!

Re: New Poison Ultima / New Daiwa Steez rods
I hope to get a little more time with my PU 172H in the next few weeks. I intend to drag a 1/2 oz football head jig with it. My only technique so far with that rod is my “mag-shakey head” rig…..1/4 oz football shakey with Diawa Fat Neko (I haven’t weighed the worm but it is at least as heavy as the ...

Re: New Poison Ultima / New Daiwa Steez rods
I only have limited time on my PU 172H that I got last year. I am planning on taking it out next week in my kayak. So far, I am extremely and thoroughly impressed any time I fish it. Absolutely my most sensitive rod (NRX, X7, Luxe Oltre, Steez Bottom Contact, z-bone, etc). I like it so much (even i...

Re: Kayak Cart
I actually got a bote lono aero with apex pedal drive. However I went out today to set it up and I'm not a fan of the amount of work and time the inflatable takes. Going to return it and probably get a native propel series yak. Which conveniently they make a cart specifically for that series. So I ...

Basslegion wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 10:59 pmSo far it has been my jerkbait rod for these cold fronts in the midwest. It casts 110s really well, I love how sensitive it is and not to whimpy even when working the vision 110.
That is good to know. I would have thought a 110 might have been a little too much based on the ratings.

Re: My First Experience with a High End Setup
Run, run away while you still can!!! :D Seriously, congrats on the purchase. There is nothing like the joy of a high end combo. Just a warning…it can be addictive (and expensive)!! In 2004 or ‘05 I found this site as I was getting back into fishing pretty seriously. I convinced myself to buy an orig...

Re: Super Eiger orginal VS 2015 model?
Thank you everyone! i think the 2015 version with the purple accents will pair nicely with my 8.0 ct steez which also has purple details on the reel. Should be a great combo! What techniques do you guys use the Super Eiger for (besides the 4” senko mentioned above)? I assume it could handle shakey ...

The Dirty Jigs jig heads are very popular around here. I really like Picasso products as well.

Re: Steez Limited 105 paint ?
If you are not fishing tournaments (or heck, even if you are) just take the extra 5 seconds to put a reel cover on it before putting it on the deck. I’m sure it is boat rash that starts the issue. I have three of them and love those reels. But I don’t fish tournaments.

Re: How many rods?
I have borrowed a kayak and fished a few times and I am excited to have just bought my own. I have taken 3 rods in the past, and I think I will carry 3-5 on my new rig. Obviously, versatility is key.

Re: 7’2″ F5-72XRC Racing Condition by Megabass
I have the Limited Edition one with the cranes on it. Has become my go-to moving bait rod for baits in the 3/8-1/2oz range, has just the right action to snap the bait free from grass but loads up nice so you don't pull the bait out of the mouth. The limited one came with a limited edition knuckle s...
