Re: Steez Question
Update: just received the Steez 100SHA yesterday and mounted it on a Daiwa Zillion rod: matched perfectly. Went out to the pier to try it out along with my new out the box Chronarch 50E. Wow!! I started casting with the Chronarch and was very pleased with the smoothness of the retrieve. And it also...

Re: Head buff or simms sunarmor
Was just checking out the Simms site and I found out that they sell the NFZ Gaiter, which has the mesh breathing panel like on the Solarflex Hoody. It's UPF 30 compared to the UPF 50+ SunGaitor though and has No Fly Zone insect-repellent fabric. http://www.simmsfishing.com/shop/headwear-1/nfz-gaiter...

Re: Brass gears for Steez EX 100HS?
Any of the TD-Z gears will fit the reel, though there is only 5:1, 5.7:1 and 6.3:1 options. This link is for the Crankin' Steez, but will work with any gear ratio set from the TD-Z platform. I know you're looking for 7:1, but this is all I'm aware of. ](*,) http://forums.tackletour.com/viewtopic.ph...

Re: Head buff or simms sunarmor
Looks like its a no brainer now, Simms it is :) then I can get matching arm bands and look like basketball player/ninja :P Haha, nice! I wonder how people will perceive me when they see me with long sleeve shirt, gloves, gaitor, hat, and sunglasses? I haven't really seen anyone go to that extreme, ...

Who did them for you or did you make them? Pics please.dragon1 wrote:I got some customs tied up in 1/2 oz...quite a bit nicer overall in quality and look than the Dirty Jigs, for about the same cost.
I will update later on this season.

Re: Anybody sell a rod over 7'6"?
What about the weight? It seems that with PVC that is where I got stiffed with the rods I sold in the past. A 7'3" rod that I shipped in a 7'5" PVC tube with 2" diameter weighed roughly 5 1/2 lbs. Cost to ship was ~$20. The 8' rod I shipped in an 8'2" PVC tube I calculated to weigh ~6 lbs. That one...

Re: Anybody sell a rod over 7'6"?
It all depends on who does the measuring  it will cost between 25-45 That's why I print out my own labels at home. The USPS site has a very easy form. A few months ago I tried to ship a rod at a USPS location and the employee came up with $100+ to ship. I declined and printed up a lab...

Re: Big swimjig rec and trailer
I plan on using the Dirty Jigs CA Swim Jig this year. I was all set to give them a whirl a couple of years ago, but injuries sidelined me. Other than the rubber collar I think they are the best looking swim jigs out. I'll definitely look into doing my own tie and cutting off the rubber collar. Good ...

Re: Head buff or simms sunarmor
I wish/hope that SImms comes out with a gaitor that has a mesh breathing panel like on the Solarflex Hoody that can be bought separately. For those that have the SunGaitor, what color do you have? I bought the UV Buff in Coolwater Camo and it absorbed too much heat for my liking. I think I will go w...

Re: Head buff or simms sunarmor
Does anyone else find that it is a bit uncomfortable to breathe through the UV Buff? It's harder to breathe and there is heat buildup. I wonder if the Simms SunGaitor doesn't have these issues. I also read the review for the SImms Solarflex Hoody and by the looks of it, it may be even more easy to b...

Re: Anybody sell a rod over 7'6"?
I recently shipped an 8' swimbait rod from CA to CT in a 2" diameter JM Eagle PVC Schedule 40/DWV Pipe via USPS for ~$25 insured.
