Hi, I been using for years now ewg (Both standard and superline gamakatsu) style hooks with my baitcaster (medium and m/h power) to fish 5"senko with good results overall but when it come to fish this bait in open water on lighter line (copolymere 8lb cxx) and spinning tackle (st-croix 6'9" m/l powe...

Re: Mono Line : Hard Jerkbaits & Topwater
I think it is a good start but personelly i will go down to 8 lb big game for the jerkbait especially if you are not around heavy cover.

Re: Calais 200DC smoothing out?
Check the anti-reverse sleeve or the anti-reverse himself.I dont have a calais but most of the time after some use the anti-reverse sleeve start to be mark by the anti-reverse and that cause a less smooth operation.

Re: Sufix perfomance braid & sufix 832 for spinning???
Just stick with the performance braid. It's a great braid IMO. The 832 was a little more sticky and jumpy to me. What do you mean by sticky and jumpy? It stuck to itself and jumped off the spool (baitcast) on the cast. It wasn't major, but it handled different than the PB IMO. I only used it for a ...

Re: zoom trick worm, float or sink?
I never had a trick work that floated, they may float without a hook I never checked but when using them they sink. The thing is they sink slow, so if you work it with the rod almost like a fluke, it will stay up in the water column. Even the models with salt, which is what I prefer, sink slow, it ...

Re: Best or your favorite line for jerk/rip baits?
I prefer copolymere line for jerkbait, right now i use p-line pf in 10lb, like it a lot for this technique, just the right diameter to fish cold water smallmouth on jerkbait.I have certainly caught way over 100 smallmouth on this line fishing jerkbait this fall =D> and no break off, not too stretchy...

Re: Sunline sx1 or Berkley nano for wacky senko spinning set
SX1, great line. Used it last season for topwater poppers, tubes, and wacky sick sticks. Incredible casting distance, good keep of the dark green colour(best I've seen next to FX2) and didn't fray like PP or Super8Slick over a season's use. 10lb is very thin, try the 12lb might be a hair better for...

Re: YOUR favorite jerkbait stick
The last 2 years i have fish jerkbait on st-croix mojo 6,6 M and M/H, good jerkbait rod overall. 2 mouths ago i decide to try the abu veritas 6.6 M, i caught tons of smallie on it this fall , it become quickly my favorite jerkbait rod.
