I think it is a good start but personelly i will go down to 8 lb big game for the jerkbait especially if you are not around heavy cover.

i use the improve Albright knot to join braid to copolymere and a Palomar if i go directly with braid.

Check the anti-reverse sleeve or the anti-reverse himself.I dont have a calais but most of the time after some use the anti-reverse sleeve start to be mark by the anti-reverse and that cause a less smooth operation.

Just stick with the performance braid. It's a great braid IMO. The 832 was a little more sticky and jumpy to me. What do you mean by sticky and jumpy?
