Re: Tatula line grooving (yes I know another thread)
I'm not really sure it is grooving made by cranking, I have a Tatula cranking reel and it has two identical grooves as the reel posted above and I have only used it on a couple of trips and I use only 12lb mono. I'm thinking it may have to do with a bad mold and only when the reels are cleaned that ...

Re: Treble hooks & High end rods
Yea I don't use them either anymore! Got tired of my rods being scratched up!
Now I either hook my crankbaits in the cork handle or cut the bait off.

Re: Mono for crankin
I use a combo of the two lines. When I need a crankbait to go deeper I will use flouro. And Sunline Machinegun cast which is a copoly line for more sensitivity. And mono for for rattle type baits.

Re: Which of these 3 rods...
I have the Helium 3 and this rod will work well for a t-rig and a jig. I remember using other rods with just about the same specs for a wide range of techniques. So I would say yes the Helium 3 would do great!!

Re: Using Loops on Jerkbaits -- when necessary??
I use a quality duo lock snap, attached to the factory split ring on the bait, on all my cranks and jerks. I've probably caught 10's of thousands of bass on them over the 30 yrs I've been using them, and I don't think I've ever lost a fish due to it coming open or any type of malfunction. It gives ...
