Re: Steez A revisited...
I've got the Zillion SV TW G1 spool in a few of mine, mainly the ones I use for pitching or skipping. Otherwise I just keep the stock Steez G1 in them. It's a solid spool, essentially a 103 13g and to improve it I'd probably have to drop the coin for a M/P spool.

Re: Steez A revisited...
I fished a Steez A since last fall and quickly found it to be a great reel. I tore it down and serviced it to my liking. It remains smooth and is an excellent casting reel, I have a multitude of spools to mess with which I enjoy. With extra spools I change from fishing clear water reservoirs to the...

Re: What are You PUNCHING with?
This year I will be giving the nrx 916 a shot. I picked it up a month ago. Still planning on picking up the MB Warhammer also. I switched to the 916 this year. It's a great stick, but heavy compared to say the 795DX. For all day punching I can see it wearing my butt out lol. The DX795 is a special ...

Re: Steez A revisited...
I've got 7 or 8 of them now... Overall I like them. Pretty much all my NRX/Bottom Contact setups have Steez A or SVTW's, and my moving bait setups have TD-Z's. I posted a while back on this forum or maybe a different one there are a few things that annoy me a bit, but not enough that I stopped buyin...

It will be horrible. Don't even try it. Just send that 100m spool to metditox4 wrote:Anyone put the TDZ 100M spool into a Megabass IP79 ? How does it do at casting, pitching, skipping and flipping ?

Re: 2019 Daiwa Morethan PE 1000 TW
Not Morethan related directly, but I notice a few comments on the sideplate. I will say this, the new Steez sideplate is one thing I really don't like about the new versions. It's much harder to adjust the brake dial. With OG versions/style, it was quick and easy flick with a thumb. Now sometimes I...

Re: Help with a baitcaster
I will point out, the first two reels you listed that you were consider both have "help" for casting ie DC and SV - so if you are new to baitcasting and were looking at those two for that reason, then also consider that the Tatula also comes in an SV version.

Re: Daiwa Coastal
I've got the blue Tatula based one, have used it on a few trips at the Jetty's with no complaints. I run 30lb JBraid on it. The knobs are kinda funky, but I haven't changed them out yet.
The Zillion based Coastal is probably a better/stronger reel, but getting hard to find.

Re: Which Steez On Destroyer FMJ ?
Jigs/Creatures, Hi Speed for sure. Any bottom contact you are better off with 7+ or better. I have 8:1 A's on my primary JWR rods and CRR rod. At 1/2oz, go ahead and get the A. The SV TW, while not a finesse reel, is definitely more on the finessey side of the 2 new model Steez reels and works bette...

Another Megabass Cork user - have put them on pretty much all my Steez that came with paddles. WTF Daiwa was thinking there is beyond me. I guess somebody likes paddles since they are putting them on pretty much everything now .

Re: Spool Storage-Baitcast
You can get these eyepiece cases which are essentially the same thing as most spool cases you would get from alixexpress or jdm sites, etc at half the price - the 37x60mm is the one you want for most baitcasters. https://agenaastro.com/parts-accessories/cases-covers/eyepiece-filter-cases.html https:...

Re: Steez A vs zillion type R
As already mentioned, really for two different applications. Z-TR is a brute, a workhorse of a reel. Steez A is more refined, but still able to handle pretty much any common bass applications, and some light saltwater as well. Steez SV TW comes in and handle the lighter stuff. I have 6 Steez A's (3 ...

Re: Steez A spool options?
I have a steez sv tw and have tried a handful of spools in it. I’m sure I’ll be alone in what I have to say but these are my findings based on what I throw. Which is usually 1/4 - 3/4oz baits. Testing was done with 8-14 gram baits. Stock steez sv tw 1016 G1 (what came with it) Stock steez sv tw 101...
