Re: Ranger BASS BOATS

Hi Japanreels, I have fished off the back of a buddies boat. They are real nice, its a good size for a lot of lakes but got thrown around a lot on the Delta. Probably the most stable fishing platform I have ever fished from. I have fished on Ranger's, Skeeter's, and one Champion. In reagrds to a mul...

Re: Fresh Crab

Very interesting product.

I'm definately interested in finding out more. Hey TT crew, have you guys ever field tested a product like this? Any feedback?

Re: Lingcod techniques?

Nice fish Skimstr,

Seasickness, I totally agree with you. Wish they could just make up tehir mind and decide what to do. Seems like mis-management to me. Saltwater's definately a lot more prone to F&G inconsistancy then freshwater.

Re: Moss Landing - Salmon (4/24)

I went to Moss with a buddy a week after the opener, pretty good fishing but boy what a crappy launch. I've never seen so many boats and trailers backed up on such a poorly organized facility. But I guess you gotta go where the fish are.

Andrew, that is a sweet setup. How much time a week is necessary looking after the water condition, fish, and such?

Re: Luhr Jense AC Plug

Nice lure Nathan! I will definately consider purchasing one. I have already forwarded the link to a bunch of buddies, they got a kick out the lure. Just curious, what kind of fur is that? Hey TT, any chance you guys could review the "Flure" I saw on Nathan's site? Haven't ever thrown anything quite ...

Re: DOES QUANTUM HAVE GOOD SERVICE ?

Hi newfisherman, I also have been looking with great interest at the new Quantum offerings, and thus far have spent most of money on only SHimano reels. I had a Chronarch bust a bearing and I was able to call Shimano and get a part, when I got the part and it still didn't fix the problem I opted to ...

Re: Hooks dont hurt fish.

I'm a big proponenet of all things fishing, but when I hook up a fish on its lip or foulhook I swear the fish will jump and flip around in a totally different way. Sure it could be a resposne mechnaism, but i don't buy it. I think fish feel pain, and those mags are just proponents of a unproven fact...

Re: SA reels

Which lightweight reel are you looking at? SA makes a lot of good lightweight reels, but their new 2LA is ported out to the max. For anything under 6wt it is definately nice to have a lightweight reel, that still offers some semblance of a drag. Problem is the 2LA doesnt come in any really small siz...

Re: Favorite Watercraft?

Though I love fishing on my buddy's Tracker, I myself only own a Sevlor inflatable, and it sucks. Saving up for a used entry level bass boat, probabaly just a 16-17 footer.

Re: BPS combo decsision - stradic or catalyst

Yeah, the maintance port on the STradic is big enough to actually grease portions of the main gear. The newer reels with s-concept "like" design, but not fully s-concept feature a smaller ill placed port. That one is only good for basic lubrication.

Re: Best outboard?

I live in Goleta, CA. its just north of Santa Barbera. I have 2 good lakes in driving distance, Cachuma and Casitas. Both are trophy bass lakes. Problem is the lakes are both real good sized and paddling my kickboat just doesn't cover enough water.

Re: BPS combo decsision - stradic or catalyst

I would also go with the Stradic. The new s-concept stradics are a ton better then the old one and really are a lot more refined.

Re: Best outboard?

Thanks JIP,

From everything i have read and heard from the dealers the Honda's are the most reliable, and quiet running. Just have to get over the higher price.

Re: Best outboard?

Looking for a good motor around 125-150HP. I have heard very good things about the new Honda motors. I went to a dealer this weekend and found out the larger motors are even equipped with Honda VTEC!
