Re: Daiwa’s New Daiwa Tatula Elite Rods make Carbon Guides “Affordable”
I dunno about these guides on a Frog Rod, interested to see if they can hold up. I know that carbon is supposed to be stronger, but what if they get nicked? Seems like an odd application for AGS. Finesse fishing I totally get.

Re: Making a Power Play, the Shimano Tranx Baitcaster
I'm shocked you found the tranx to be less refined. I found that even after 1000lbs of fish on it. And both reels serviced and lubed with Krytox. That the Tranx felt as refined as a Metanium...And almost as refined as an antares (close but not quite) I've got both the MET and the TRX and my experie...

Re: Concept E Magnesium
Justgopen, Yes, the entire frame and sideplates are protected. Our headquarters is in Tampa FL...so you can be assured that we have abused these reels in saltwater. We have submerged them and fished, re-submerged and fished over a period of testing of about 7 months. Additionally they have been tes...

Concept E Magnesium
Hi Matt, interested in picking up a new lightweight Mg reel and now that your Concept E is out I definitely want to consider it. I do fish in brackish water and there is a chance that I might use it for some light inshore fishing. I see that it has a protection layer, your Ocean Armor Finish. Is thi...

Re: The REVOlution Continues, Abu Garcia’s New Gen 3 Premier
I’ve had all three generations of the Revo series and in comparison I feel like the Gen 3 Premier is just as smooth out of the box. After about three months the reel did lose some of this but I never felt like it wasn’t “smooth.” When you take the reel apart the one thing I noticed was it had a lot ...

Re: Living up to the legacy? Shimano’s Curado G
been waiting for this one. Very fair review and glad to see that the new reel is not just a Caenan. I've got both the D and E versions and absolutely love them. I'm probably just going to save up and pick up that new Core7, I realy don't like the shape of the Caeanan/Cruado G, but I think they got t...

Re: Fueling the Mainstream, Powell's Upcoming Diesel Rods
Interesting, I've only used a warranty once on a rod, but like all things I wonder if I'll break one of these simply becuase it doesn't have a warraty. Or will I fish it less aggrively becuase of fear I will break it. I can't even count the number of times I've had a product (not necissarily tackle)...

Re: Coming full Circle over a Decade, the Stradic is Back
Great read, I have always liked the white Stradic and I'm glad its back, and not just some painted version of the previous reel but a new platform. The only thing I wish Shimano did was keep the price closer to the 159 dollar mark. I'm liking my CI4 but I'll definietly pick up one of these for a wor...

I know this is kind of crazy but do you think the reel could handle Albacore Tuna?

Thats what I call a drag! One reel I can use for Stripers, Halibut, and Rockies. Nice work Shimano, I'm getting one.

Re: Spinnerbait Trailers?
I sometimes use a pre-punched pork trailer from Uncle Josh. They are good for getting baits down quicker but I haven't caught more fish with them.

Ever wonder how big a site is?
Just got turned on to this at work. Called "Alexa" and used by a lot of people to detrmine ranking of sites for advertising, traffic, etc. It's not perfect but it gives you a good idea of how much traffic sites are. The lower the number the better, and it is ranked like 1 (think it is google) is the...

Re: Best casting baitcaster.......
My vote goes to the ANtares AR, but if that weighs to much for you then the Curado D. I agree with ChuckE regarding the Alphas Ito but line capacity may be an issue for multi-species.

Re: Abu interview
Good interview. I used to see a lot of Fenwick, but now it seems the only place I see them is at the sporting good superstores like sports Authority or Oshmans...rather than any tackle shops. They are also the more value rods at sub 60 dollars. Wheres the good stuff?
