Re: Your most versatile reel

After trying Revo, Ryoga, Conquest, Sol/Alphas, Zillion, Ambassadeur, and others. It's got to be my Millionaire Bay Casting Special 103. Freshwater or Saltwater. Heavy Cover or Open water. Light to heavy lures. Tough against corrosion. Parts and upgrades are easy to acquire even for an old reel. The...

Re: Pe Special 100hl (6.3:1) main and pinion gear for Jdream

how about for those other zillion such as Red Daiwa anniversary and ??? will that be possible to lower down the gear from 7.3 to 6.3 since it has share the same size of spool??? I did the upgrade on a PLA or Crazy Cranker (4.9:1). I bought a second set of gear and pinion from a Zillion HLA (6.3:1)....

Re: Removing a Ryoga or Pluton Worm Gear Pawl

trav wrote:It's kinda tricky at first, but it's not to complicated to remove. I use a small flathead screw driver and lightly press one of the tabs until it clears the lip of the line guide. Once one of the tabs are past it, the piece will slide out. Hope this helps
Thanks Trav. I will try it.

Removing a Ryoga or Pluton Worm Gear Pawl

I am trying to clean the worm gear of my Ryoga but I cannot seem to figure out how to remove the pawl. Ryogas and Plutons have a different design and I cannot figure out how to pop out the collar (Part #72 or Ryoga, Part #71 on Pluton) ](*,) : http://i602.photobucket.com/albums/tt102/alex2823blog/Ry...

Re: Purple Alphas drag problem

To be more specific, I buy the complete Smooothdrag kit with the stainless metal drag washers included, not just the 3 carbon washers. I also polish them to a mirror finish before installing them +1 on the metal washers and carbontex. The metal washers are bigger and flatter which will give you mor...

Re: Knob Cap Tool

I'm thinking it would be pretty easy to make one. It comes free when you buy an RCS knob. But you can create the tool using spinner bait wire or medium gauge wire leader. The loop should fit your finger. Here is a pic of the tool: http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k491/Shimreels/DAIWA/Accessories...

Re: Mind sharing the BB sizes for Daiwa Zillion Crazy Cranke

should be the same as regular zillion. 3mm x 10mm x 4mm 3mm x 8mm x 4mm I think the 3 x 10 x 4 is for Zillion PE Special because that big spool bearing has a collar. Here is the complete list according to Boca: 1 pc ID 3mm x OD 8mm x Width 4mm Dimensions -- Side plate 1 pc ID 5mm x OD 11mm x Width ...

Re: Survay Says? Question about TackleTour Articles....

Perhaps a both a Quick Review - a few days in the water (with your catches) and a Full Review -- the long-winded, one-to-two season review which contains the durability issues, etc. A Quick Review is some sort of First Impressions --- necessary for those who cannot wait for the full review. Those ta...

Re: Frog remedy

I'm looking for a fix. The legs on my frog is sticky and worst yet some of the legs don't seem repairable. What do you do especially when the body is in very good condition? Replace the legs with good quality silicon skirts. The round skirts used in jigs, buzz, or spinner baits. You have to tie an ...

Side by Side Comparison between a Z2020

I am interested in getting a Daiwa Z2020HL but I'm having concerns on how palmable this reel is. I don't want to invest on something that I may not be able to comfortably grip while lure casting (I have small hands). Does any one here have a Z2020 and perhaps have a side by side picture with a Milli...
