Re: Japan Fishing Show 2020 Predictions

I slipped while wading last year and fell on a big flat rock landing directly on my ass. Felt like someone had smacked my bottom with a 2x4. I sure wish I had been wearing my Hip guard GM-3615 that day.

At the prices those fetch I'll take a kistler klx or helium any day of the week.
For under $200, you can get a H3 direct from Kistler right now. That beats either of the mentioned brands' comparable offerings by at least $150.
Where are you seeing a deal on an H3 for under $200?

Re: 2020 Zillion 10

I read where a guy stretched the spring that is between the dial and the screw to give it more resistance. Not sure if it works good because I have never tried it. That's really interesting. I supposed one could replace the spring with a stiffer one as well but idk how springs are “rated” so I don’...

Re: Adding tension to Daiwa spool tension knobs?

An o-ring. I had to add one in lieu of the ss sv washer kit when I added a HH tension knob to my SV103. Works like a charm. I work in fluidics and have an endless supply at work. I can send you some if you want to go that route. Thanks for the offer! I have a big kit of o-rings that I bought for wa...

Adding tension to Daiwa spool tension knobs?

Hi, I have a couple Pixies and Alphases that I run with no to minimal spool tension. The issue I have is that the knobs are very loose and I am constantly tightening or loosening them by accident during handling. I was thinking of adding thick grease to the threads but I am afraid of getting grit an...

Re: 2020 Zillion 10

I actually like the current mag dial. I can adjust it one-handed and I guess I palm it the right way to not notice it. I feel the dial and the ridge under it on my pointer finger. I tried using two fingers in front of the trigger many times but I can't get used to it. Yeah palming with two finger i...

Re: GLX reel seats

I have a 783c and a 844c and I don't like the seat on either of them. It seems to push my hand into the trigger and about half of the reels I have tried on them are ergonomically awful. Small reels like Alphases or Aldebarans feel the best.

It’s a pretty small group of sites where you can buy JDM gear without Japanese language skill, so I don’t think there are any amazingly secret revelations being posted here.

Re: Shimano and G.Loomis Launch Limited Edition Bantam MGL & IMX-Pro Combos

I was one click away from ordering one from ALF, but didn’t do it. If it was an MBR rod I would have but I am very well covered for bottom contact rods.

It’s a hell of a deal and I hope Loomis does more of them. I would jump all over limited editions of some of the discontinued CR and MBR rods.

Re: Protecting reels from scratches

I keep covers on my reels whenever they are not in my hand or in a rod holder. When bank-beating if I need to set my rod down I sacrifice my hat, it gets thrown on the ground, and then my reel gets set on it.
