Re: Conquest vs Ryoga

Im with spooky. I find myself cranking fast naturally so I went with the slower reel. Slower reels force me to slow down and I tend to think about my speed more. I am completely not the guy that can consistantly slow down with a faster reel so i choose a lower ipt. YMMV

Conquest vs Ryoga

Help me spend my money. I need a reel to attach to my Megabass Launcher. This will be used for larger cranks to maybe 25 feet so DD22s etc. Probably on 12lb flouro or copoly depending on summer vs cranking in the winter. I was leaning towards the conquest 200 but the new Ryoga looks interested but h...

Re: Simms Challenges the Notion Gore-Tex Is the Only Viable Rain Fabric

Hmm, have you tested anything for rain up to say 80 degrees, with shorts underneath? Nothing worse then having a summer storm roll in and your choices are get wet or sweat.

Re: GY Senko good alternatives?

I have had good luck with https://docirvcustombaits.com/baitbox/s ... stic-lures

he does a good job of matching the senko fall and you can adjust it by adding or removing salt.

Re: Megabass Perfect Pitch for Carolina rigs

I believe the Aaron Martens FLipping is the same blank but with an additional 7 inches in length as the PP. I have both and have used both for frogs and carolina rigs. The only time I used the AMF for frogging is when the wife grabbed my PP for frogging  The AMF did fine but wasnt as nice as sa...

Are the rod specs listed anywhere? Frustrating when a company releases a new product but doesn't update their site.

I have 2, one in 6 speed and 1 in the 9 speed. I have had zero issues so far and the 6 speed on orochi xx launcher flat LAUNCHES a dt10 and dt 16.

Why wait for a sale? You can get this reel at the prices you are waiting for every day off the auction site.

Re: pike and smallmouth fishing

I use the knot 2 kinky stuff also when Im up north. I really like it for pitching jigs into reeds etc, I have caught some large pike on bass gear with no fear of cut offs or losing my jigs with this stuff. I dont do anything fancy with the knots really just treat it like thick flouro and its treated...

Re: Medium light Helium 3 casting

I have this rod with an airy red pixzilla mounted to it. Im using it this year for ned rigs and small cranks. Last year it was used for mainly small cranks like the little flicker shads and 1/4 oz red eye shads in open water. I have had no complaints with the rod except going from a heavy pitching r...

Re: B and B bait box

I think I am really going to enjoy it. If it wasn't for the xtra deep cranks like my dd22s and the mans 30+ I would have bought a shallower box like the 6 inch. Bill was a joy to work with and I think he called me on a sunday to talk through the build and I had the product on thursday.
