I need an reel for my phenix m1 Swimbait rod 1 to 3 oz . I will be throwing an 6 inch triton mikes bull shad and mostly lunker punkers . I will be using 20 pd mono most of the time and need an reel that is decent

Since you are building your own rods, do you still have time to salmon fish? Sup James, I havent really been building any rods lately. Been salmon fishing on the weekends to but this year is alot slower then last year. Ill try to build more in the winter time when i quit salmon fishing tho. Randy

here's what I do. first I apply epoxy with strokes going around the blank on each end to establish straight ends. Then I come back and fill in between those ends with strokes along the blank. The epoxy will spread out around the blank, but not much along the blank. You don't have to lay it down smo...

If you don't mind me asking, but how do you bank fish for salmon at Freeport? I've mostly fished for salmon from boats, with the exception of throwing spinners and such at the mouth of the Klamath.
