Re: Sacramento ISE
I always enjoy the show. But, then again, I am also really interested in the hunting guides and fishing resorts. I also booked a wild boar hunt. It was not to crowded, but it was a Thursday. Fisherman's was doing their no sales tax sale, but they do that several times a year. Phenix was giving away ...

Sacramento ISE
Went to the ISE yesterday and made the mistake of stopping by the Dobyn's booth. This is the result. On a side note, when we asked about new Daiwa reels, the Daiwa rep. was noncommittal, but he did strongly intimate that we were going to see more new reel introductions than most people were ex...

Re: Daiwa at BPS
Pure fishing and house brands. Makes me wonder if Johnny Morris has a substantial stake in Pure Fishing. Seems to me that might be a good business decision. That market is huge.

Re: NRX893 versatility
Worked pretty good.
Easily cast the unweighted Keitech and there was no doubt when the fish hit. I guess you can say it worked as advertised.

Re: NRX893 versatility
I always find it interesting that this rod was designed for soft jerkbaits but no one seems to mention using it for that technique.
Does anyone? I think it is time I tried them myself.

Re: Some one HELP ME!!!
Take out all your gear, lay it out in your living, including all your lures. Then decide on what you don't want, and upgrade them to what you need. Hey, this works, I do it all the time! Well, it works most of the time. Sometimes I just buy more tackle boxes, like this one I just bought this ...

You don't even have to enjoy the tackle more than fishing, just enjoying tinkering with the tackle is enough to change things big time.africanbass wrote:You can almost get away with 3-4 combos

Re: Daiwa SV105HSL or Steez SV103XSL?
Thanks for the input guys. I decided to go with the Steez SV. I am going to use it this month and then, hopefully I can get the SV105 next month. If I had gotten the SV105, I probably would not have gone for the more expensive Steez, but this way, I know I will get the less expensive SV105 now. :D G...

Daiwa SV105HSL or Steez SV103XSL?
I want to add a new 2 power rod combo to fish 1/4 oz and lighter baits in relatively cover less water. I want it to have one of the Daiwa SV spool reels, but I am not sure which would best fit my "wants". I will be trying to throw tubes, small plugs, jigs, and maybe some unweighted plastics. Nothing...

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!
Made two trips out of Bodega Bay on a buddy's boat. He fishes all of the time out of Bodega, but they were my first trips. I have fished a fair amount out of SF bay, but never anywhere else in the ocean. I used an Ugly stik and a Lexa 400 on the first trip and a Phenix Abyss 808 and Lexa 400 with 65...

Re: Carolina Keepers
I use Carolina Keepers all of the time for trout fishing. Usually with no line heavier than 6 lbs and sliding sinkers up to 3/8 oz. After a while, the keepers can develop a groove and not hold as well, but that has not really been much of a problem for me. Also, this might not be a problem with heav...

Re: best brick and mortar tackle shop
Hi's Tackle Box for the awesome customer service and enthusiast inventory. I probably would not have purchased a Megabass rod \:D/ if I could not have held them in their showroom. Nothing beats actually getting to handle something exotic to make you want to buy it! Monster Tackle for their "Oh my go...
