Re: Metanium MGL vs Diawa Steez SV TWS

I have both reels and consider the steez to be more of a as others stated a power finesse reel, its very smooth and casts well ,don't care much for the tws system, but iam going to use this for 1/4-3/8 baits, very weary of the steez after owning a few of the original 103s and having them get that gear...

Re: Metanium MGL vs. Chronarch Ci4+

the gear sideplate on the met 13,15dc and mgl are magnesium like the frame , just look up the cost on that gear sideplate its 96.00 ,if it was ci4+ it would be a hell of alot less.

Re: Shimano Chronarch- pros and cons

I bought my first Chronarch Ci4 HG a month after they came out, and still use it as my inshore reel. It has been an amazing reel and has no issues bringing in a 25lb redfish or Jack. Never felt any flex and gears still feel like new. Also have a couple in use for 1/2-3/4 chatterbaits and bass defin...

Re: Shimano Chronarch- pros and cons

A reel that (seems to me) seldom gets much attention on this forum is the Shimano Chronarch. I guess it's kind of the middle brother between the everyman workhorse Curado and the high performance, high price (to me anyway!) Metanium. I've just upgraded my light jig/t-rig setup, now using a GLX MBR8...

Re: Shimano Chronarch- pros and cons

I have the Chronarch and the Curado 70. The 70 has become my go to for jig fishing and light pitching. It palms better, its smaller, aluminum frame so it feels solid, and new SVS system. I added a bearing to the worm gear and 4 to the handle knobs, now it's a 10+1 bearing reel. What an improvement!...

Re: Juice worth the squeeze? Steez SV TW

Visited Carolina Bait and Tackle near lake Norman yesterday. I had said I was gonna hold off on ordering the Steez SV TW because I really like feeling a reel before I buy it. I guess it's a holdover from when I was younger but whenever I buy a reel I prefer to be able to hold, reel and inspect the ...

Re: Juice worth the squeeze? Steez SV TW

In short, yes. I was skeptical of the T-Wing on a Steez, among other things about the latest (and greatest) Steez incarnate. Having put in a decent amount of time with it now, I'm very, very impressed. The teardrop shape of the frame almost disappears in my hand for an unbelievably comfortable palm...

Re: Juice worth the squeeze? Steez SV TW

I myself, am waiting for a higher gear ratio before I mull over it. I'm kinda to that point though where for most applications, the reel just delivers the bait. From there, its all about the rod. Popping SV spools in T3s has been very cost effective. I'm getting 90% of the Steez SV TWS for signific...
