Re: Questions about Japanese Rods
I've read most of the posts on Japanese rods but admit I'm still really leary of buying them even though I buy Japanese sourced reels. That's why I'm choosing a lower priced rod. I'm hoping TT members will help out. I too was sceptical, until yesterday. Last Thursday I ordered a Megabass F2-64XS Lt...

Re: Custom rod vs Megabass...
For the past 8 years I have taken great pride in designing my own rods and getting my builder to stick them together. Today, I opened I a package containing the first "factory" built rod that I have purchased in that time. The rod in question is a Megabass F2-64XS Ltd. To me, it matches any of the r...

In Tune With Ito
Last week I collected a 6', 1/2 - 1-1/2oz, seven guides plus tip top, casting rod of my own design, from my builder. ;) Today I unwrapped my first ever JDM rod, a Megabass F-64XS Ltd. :big grin: After admiring the MB for a while I thought "mmm, those guide spacings look familiar". I aligned the tips...

Tica Sculptor Baitcasting Reel
Just wondered, have any of you guys owned a Tica Sculptor? If so, what are your views. I had a pair a few years ago. At that time they out performed my Calcutta 251's and my Curado 201BSF's in both casting distances & smoothness of operation. However, they both suffered from a problem when re-engagi...

Hi Srek,
Check out the Shimano Calais 201A. There are a couple of reasonable deals here in the U.K.
OR
Check out the Plat site. Their service is second to none. Link below.

I thought that the hole in the twitching bar was to sight through to check that your guides are aligned.

As above. I've never taped a wiffle and I've never had a rust bloom. My reels are always washed and dried after every session.

Re: Tasmanian Devil spoons
I've been using them for about 8 years, in all sizes from 7g upwards. I really can't fault them. They're bomb broof and have a killer action that can be tuned. I've had pike, perch, chub and trout on them. I always have some in the box.

Re: Custom rod vs Megabass...
Am I supposed to purchase a lesser rod because it has a better warranty? That's a good point. Without a life-time guarantee, US rods such as St.Croix, G.Loomis or Kistler would be much cheaper. I would like those companies to give customers the choice between 1-year and a life-time guarantee. I thi...

Re: Plats Christmas Sale starting early?
Just had a bad meeting with the company directors. It looks like my monkey will be stuck in his cage for the foreseeable. Still, at least my first Megabass rod should be with me tomorrow, and I do have my new Daiwa TD-R to go with it.

Having ordered my first JDM rod, a Megabass F2-64XS Ltd last Thursday, this review was bad news for me. Now I want more toys.

Re: Enthusiast Forum
Being in England we don't see too many Largemouths, however, a lot of the kit discussed here is relavent to pike, zander, perch, trout & chub etc. ;) As far as I'm concerned, this is THE best forum bar none. :big grin: The members here are all forward thinking and open to new equipment and technique...

Re: Too Free??
Guys,
I've already tried both of the above to no avail.
Still, after 5 years of use, I think it may be time for a change.
