Re: Daiwa SV 105 vs SV 103
If you're worried about line capacity with the 105, watch ebay for a Zonda spool. They hold more line (+20 yards of 12lb) and I just saw one listed at $60. Should drop right into the SV105. BTW, watch out for the line cap listed for the old V shaped spools for Alphas/Sol, most of the specs are from ...

Re: NRX 854 tip vs 873 tip
That the 893 can have a feel of more finesse then the 843 yet show less deflection is something I can't explain. My guess is the softer tip of the 843 absorbs more energy instead of dissipating it back to the user as efficiently as the 893. The newer blank of the NRX should be lighter per sectional...

Re: daiwa reel suggestion for my steez punch/flip rod
on another note: I also have the 7'4" steez XT frog rod. it is just as light and amazing as the steez XBD frod rod. its a little stronger {backbone for fishing matts/cheese} than the XBD as well. Thanks for the info on the frog rod, I've been wondering about the XT version of the XBD. I've never go...

Re: Daiwa Interline Rod
From what I've found on the internet, daiwa developed these for long distance casting competitions, and when they first used then, they destroyed everyone else when they used them with braid. A lot of others mentioned, like Africanbass, that in real fishing with dirty water the tip can get clogged u...

Re: The Force of "The One" Awakens
Very nice build, I'm still waiting to get my hands on a 715. Have a 714 built up and love it. Sensitivity on those things is crazy. Also finally getting spooled up on my PB build. Ended up exchanging the 731HF for a 761MHXF the HF just felt too stiff for what I want it for. Blank's been sitting on m...

Re: How long can a bass live out of the water???
What's the point of this question? If you're CPR, then get it done as quickly and responsibly as possible. Not sure why some people are inclined to photo every 1 and 2 lb bass they catch, but that's another story . Hold it vertically by the lip, not horizontally unsupported, try not to let the bass...

Re: How long can a bass live out of the water???
The analogies to drowning dogs and straggling yourself aren't quite right. Fish can still "breathe" through their gills in air, but at large loss in efficiency. I'll have to look for the research on this, but my recollection from the paper is that the larger the fish the longer it can survive out of...
