Re: Transparent decal or other way to protect painted reel l
Clear coat would be my suggestion. That or don't worry about it, or don't fish it.

Re: Where to get Tungsten cheap
Something I've always found interesting, Tungsten melts around 3422 C / 6192 F. Which is the highest melting point among any known elemental metal. Lead on the other hand melts at 327.46 C / 621.43 F. These temps differ by a little more than a factor of 10, kind of like their prices.... :crying: Hug...

Re: Duckett reels
I haven't had a chance to see one in person and there seemingly is not a lot of info on either tacklewarehouse or ducketfishing. Reel weights and line recovery are not listed. They do have a fun concept of making two colors in each model for rod matching reasons. Anyone know what the country of orig...

Re: Two random/different questions.
Looking at the box of my JDM Revo Elite IB it says, " Made in Korea". On the other hand, as many times as I have spelled Daiwa, I still from time to time spell it incorrectly, I will attribute it to being born in the 60's. The USDM Orra reels are also Korea. Anyone able to confirm or deny that thes...

Re: No more Lifetime Warranty- Shimano Rods
From what I hear July 15th was the official cutoff date. The new rods will no longer have a date sticker, but the date code will be printed on the rod proper. This change will anger a lot of customers out there that bought Shimano primarily for the warranty. The tough thing about this change is that...

Re: Lew's Customer Service
I had gears swapted from a 6.4 to a 5.4 (no left handed 5.4's available at the time). Sent the reel in, within a week had it shipped back to me, they even changed the part near the drag where it said 6.4 to a 5.4 Rick Collins was a pleasure to deal with as well as Amber who I've delt with a few tim...

Re: Shimano Baitrunner Question
The Shimano Baitrunner OC is only made up to an 8000 currently and retails for 139.99. This size reel will only hold ~145 yards of 30 lb mono. The Shimano Baitrunner D is made one size lager in a 12000, retails for 189.99 and will hold ~195 yards of 30 lb mono. Having done lots of surf fishing, I wo...

Re: New gear help for a noob.
for the longest time an Ugly Stick and some 30$ spinner real is all I used. I want to upgrade to something of quality that will last. Welcome to the board. I would like to commend you for looking to upgrade, but be careful the tackle upgrade monkey will need to be fed. I am reading a bit into your ...

If this is something you worry about, you might consider the newish VMC hooks that come with pre-glued eyes.

The only other baits it might be are the 'Lectric' colors but nothing in dark purple on the vendor's page.

Re: The Future of The Anti-Reverse
I am of the mind to agree that an anti reverse switch is 'useless'. Most guys that I see using this anti reverse switch use it to back reel a bait away from the tip of the rod before they cast because they wound to much line inward - bad fisherman. It is just as easy to pull against the drag or open...

Re: What lure disappointed you the most?
Banjo minnow lol, this bait has caught more fishermen than fish. I caught a ton of fish on banjos i got for xmas when I was a kid when they first came out. It fishes just like a fluke really, but the nose hook can make things difficult. When it first came out I was 13 and convinced my dad to let me...
