In my best jenna jameson sales pitch voice:

"And now with the new inshore version, you have a choice between the Sean Michaels chocolate handle or the John Holmes handle".

Re: The Search for One: St. Croix Speaks in Xtremes

"The controversial piece in St. Croix's composition of the LXC71MHXF and all it's Legend Xtreme siblings is of course the grip material." With all due respect- I think you got this one wrong Cal (or maybe you were just being respectful to St Croix & didn't want to mention it?)- the mos...

Re: Creature Fever : It Really Is "Da-Bomb"!

I'm guessing that MB rod at the bottom of page 1 is a evoluzion big taper?
Hopefully it's the super griffon stage II, as that's the next rod on my list to buy.

Re: TackleTour Re-Calibrated Rating System

I like this new format. The more specific ratings & catagories the better. More data/ratings is never a bad thing. Kind of off topic, but I have thoughts/suggestions on reviews I wanted to mention if that's cool? It mainly has to do with comparisons. 1. The reel's gear(s). I really liked in past...

Re: Does 832 Stand Up to Sudden Impact? It Might Make Your D

Awesome article! Having used both the 832 & performance braid, I like the performance braid. Hard to say why exactly, It just seems to handle better (& less messy & fade). Overall though... I'm just not in love with it. Their mono is the best on the market imo, I guess I assumed the brai...

Re: Bait the Finesse?!? Shimano -v- Daiwa Product Insight

@Tokugawa Man we're just messing around, it's not a big deal. It's a funny incident because its Cal. If it was anyone else it wouldn't have been as funny. I mean- your telling me Cal not finding the cast control knob isn't funny? C'mon.. It's all in good fun. No need to call people 'sheeple'. That b...

Re: latest reel comparison

Nice. Just checked the specs on Japantackle, says its 8.5mm closer. "Core-fit-body design: handle is 8.5mm closer to reel body by moving cast control caps to palm cups" Can you tell a difference when reeling? More comfortable/effortless? It's crazy that the shimano jdm stuff is cheaper tha...

Re: Bait the Finesse?!? Shimano -v- Daiwa Product Insight

WoodT your killin' me! I'm with ya- I don't think the editor's note at the bottom is gonna cut it. There's more than a few revisions due. 3sec spool spin time, ergonomics, what's under the 'other' cast control knob, Does the cast control click? Without the ratchet? ;) That being said- you know the g...

Re: latest reel comparison

Lol I can't believe Cal didnt know where the cast control knob was  (To be fair, I probably would've started wrenching on it too. Or read the instructions first :D ). The cast control knob under that bar wouldn't bother me as much as the fact that it's on the palming side. Having to change hand...

Re: Regaining His Edge : Bass Rods by Gary Loomis

Very cool.
But like thelatrobe33 said, the guides mentioned was a bit of a turn off. Just slap some stainless steel guides & sic inserts on there and call it a day. (But then again- who am I to tell someone like Gary loomis which components to use lol)

Re: Megabass's CEO-X Factor : Yuki Ito

Fantastic interview, best one I've read so far. I've never really got into megabass too much. I know they make awesome gear but i always tend to shy away from the bigger names and seek out lesser-known companies. That interview peaked my interest in megabass. I'm not sure that's a good thing(for my ...

Re: Shimano and Jackall Lures Officially Join Forces

Good for Jackall =D> .
Now lets hope Shimano doesn't stand in the way of the design process, or sacrifice quality to increase quantity, which seems to be their MO as of recently. I don't wanna see squad minnows in walmart sporting eagle claw hooks for $4.99

Re: Spotlight on the Middle Child, the Shimano Citica G

That was a good review, glad to see it get a good grade. But with curados going for $130, im not sure why someone would choose the citica over the curado when the price difference is only $20-30.

Re: Shimano Breaks the Mold with the Upcoming Calcutta D

First thoughts:
1. I like the silver.
2. Is that dragstar plastic?!
3. Liking the grips, the handle not so much.
4. With the non handle side being smaller, it seems like it would be way off balance.
...Where are these made?
