Re: Bad tackle thread (what to avoid)

Are these new or old? Saw them a while back and looked for some info and found nothing, only sold on one site and not on Jackalls website from what I could find. Much better design though, except for the grass catching slot  Just ordered more Break Blades though so I’m good for now \:D/ These ...

Re: Daiwa J-Fluoro Samurai Fluorocarbon

The heavier sizes may not have issues, but the 6# and 8# that I used had to be taken off the reels after I was fed up with the knot failures.

Line looks great, but its performance left a lot to be desired.

Re: Bad tackle thread (what to avoid)

Looks like the powers that be must have addressed the issue with the Break Blade.

Apparently the new design is not going to 'break' as easily.

Re: Evergreen Little Max

Found a replacement!

Decoy V-F52 Double Hook

The hooks are such an integral part of the bait's balance, and I was afraid I'd be having to source them from Japan. Good thing I can get them at TW, I was just looking in the wrong direction.

Evergreen Little Max

So, the stock double (frog?) hooks that these come with, I believe size 6, are hard to come by. Is there a replacement anybody has found when the stock hooks get beat to %hit by the fish, as they're very light wire? Or am I going to have to source the Evergreen branded replacement stock hooks? https...

Forward Facing Sonar and Co Anglers

Talk about two things that don't mix.

Anybody have experience being a co angler and your boater using FFS? How did that work out?

Re: Underestimated Lures (or Unappreciated)

When I first looked at a chatterbait, I laughed out loud.

Now, I always have one rod rigged with one on deck. I like a particular JDM model. The blade is already vibrating before I turn the handle. :-D

With the advent of forward facing sonar, the Lil George is bound to make a comeback, right?

Rain Gear

Just spent last Saturday standing in a bass boat, realizing that when clothing is labeled as 'waterproof,' there are levels of waterproof-ness. From 6 am to about 1 pm, it felt like we were standing under a shower head. By 7:30, I was completely soaked. I made big mistakes in choosing what to wear, ...

Shimano Mastiff

I've looked everywhere and can't find if the spool has a half way 100 yard marker. Don't need to be guestimating 100 yards as I don't need more than that on my reels and was hoping to get 2 fills.

Anybody know if they have the 100 yard marker?

Thanks!

15lb seems heavy for the Aldebaran and for a BFS setup overall.
I think he means 15# PE, equivalent to 4 pound mono/FC.

Backpacks

I've had my Shimano Blackmoon Backpack for almost 15 years now. (The OG blue one) After years of abuse, it has finally started to die. And I'm looking for a similar backpack. I've seen and heard the new black Shimano Blackmoon backpacks sucking. Either zippers or tears, it's always something. I don'...

Daiwa Numbering Scheme

I have a Daiwa Certate Custom Finesse 2004.

That doesn't mean it came out 20 years ago, right?

Asking for a friend.

7'6" Light Cranking Rod

Hi, I'm currently using an older black Cumara (Reaction Series) 7'6" ML. This is by far my favorite moving bait rod. I throw small swimbaits, underspins, cranks, spinnerbaits in the 1/4 ounce range and absolutely love it. But I've noticed that Shimano doesn't really have a higher end, parabolic 7'6"...

Re: Was Braided Line a Game Changer for You?

I fish in deep clear reservoirs and the need for braided line is usually never necessary. I have several rods rigged with braid and they see the light of day, but I really still fish straight FC or nylon. Even when it came to using a FC leader, just having another point of failure at the knot, espec...

Re: Shoes?

Been using the Pegasus Gore Tex on the bass boat since I got them, and they have been exactly what I'm looking for (which means Nike will discontinue them soon.) As others have mentioned, the flip flop and barefoot days are over. These sole are sticky. I worried a bit about wet docks and slippery su...
