Re: Newer Reels
They have offered to help me fix reels past warranty and always been able to answer questions. I see no reason to find Shimano superior or the other way around. Back to the main thread though, it just depends on which newer reels is what I would have to say, there are good and bad ones everywhere y...

Re: Newer Reels
To address a previous comment, Daiwa has ALWAYS been quick and friendly with me, as has Shimano. They have offered to help me fix reels past warranty and always been able to answer questions. I see no reason to find Shimano superior or the other way around. I have narrowed my future reel purchases t...

Re: Is Zillion SV worth cost over Tatula SV?
I'm very happy you're impressed with the Tatula SV TW! Thank you for the purchase and giving us the opportunity to tweak it up a bit before delivery! I'm a fan of the Zillion SV TW myself, as much as I enjoy the Tatula SV TW, the Zillion SV TW gets the nod from me out of the box, before upgrades. T...

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!
Not bfs, but diy 1516 Look what I found on AliExpress http://s.aliexpress.com/veQbyEVV Awesome!!! I was a huge fan of the BFS spool for these reels, I use another Zillion TWS (1516) for deep cranking and think this spool might be great. One user from Russia on Aliexpress mentioned "Figured out the ...

Re: A Closer Look at Lew's Best Seller, the Speed Spool LFS
Good review, I looked and looked to try and find more about their P2 bearing support. From what I found, it isn't quite the same as Shimano's X-ship or Daiwa's Free Floating spool design. For Shimano/Daiwa, the pinion is on 2 exclusive bearings and the spool is on 2. For Lew's, there are still 3 tot...

Re: ZPi spool for the Tat SV TW, who has used one?
All good info, good thread. I am assuming the same benefits relate to the ZPI 1016 spool too versus say the stock Zillion SV TW spool?
I liked learning about the 1/8 tube improvements, common style of lure I throw too.

Re: The most UNDER rated..
I've got a stable full of OG Tatulas and Major Craft MS-X. They pretty much comprise my entire arsenal, so I agree whole heartedly. I've been touting the quality of the OG Tats for years. They blow everything else I'd tried before that out of the water. As for Major Craft, I never hear anything bad...

Re: Who is the MOST over rated ?
A way to justify that thought on Shimano is the fact that many consider it an upgrade to add Curado K gears (sub $200 reel) to a Metanium MGL (over $400 reel). So there is some truth to that there. You just have to look at specifications and read where the differences are and if that is worth it to ...

Re: Daiwa Z2020
These have got to be one of my favorite looking reels. Once I ever start upgrading the whole collection, I would like to pick one up if they could handle small A-rigs or the smaller large swimbaits like 6.8/7.8 Keitech's or 168S S Waver's...

Thanks! & Im just looking for the current pricing on them. Sorry it was quite late when i wrote the post haha. Found you one for $470 area brand new. They have left and right handed, it is the 7 gear though and the Z Black LTD 2016 version. Probably find them cheaper on auction sites. Digitaka is w...

Re: Daiwa Question on Parts
Lmao - A Steez will not have a bushing on the worm gear. My guess is he was asking to add one to an SS/SV, but I think they have a bearing on the levelwind too, lol. No I am working on several reels actually Steez Limited SV IS79 Steez EX79 Ringa SSS and TDX cranking reel. I’m just awaiting parts n...

Re: 2019 Steez CT SV and 2019 Alpha CT SV
Just to clarify the reel is the same size as all the other alohas but just has a smaller 70 size spool? Yes, spacers to reduce the inner hub to fit a 30mm spool. Also I have heard there are some internal discrepancies, like pinion design. Mainly any differences are to accommodate the new smaller sp...
