Are you referring to USDM or JDM steez SV? It was my understanding that the USDM steez was very similar to the SS SV

Re: Alphas AIR!!!

I use some teflon tape that is used for pipe threads, it prevents any slipping and does not leave any residue.

Re: Which braid for ds on spin reel?

My braid of choice has been 18# samurai with a flouro leader of 4 to 12# depending on cover and expected bass size. Has worked great since Samurai is so thin and limp.

Re: sv spool users

I have been using 40# smackdown on a FX73 and really really love the way it casts. I also just used this past weekend an alphas SV with 20# 832 and it performed quite well. You will need to use a low setting on the brakes and pretty loose spool tension. I find myself using long cast on the FX73 a lo...

Light, smooth, 3d braking, great palmability, being able to engage it with one hand... It would certainly be hard to resist

Re: Best Frog rod

I really like my f6-71X4 Matt Bucker Frog rod, it is somewhat shorter and allows for very precise casts and loads very well except with the smallest frogs.

Re: aldebaran Mg7

The listed weights for the Mg and the Mg7 are the same from what I can tell. This would mean that the 5:8:1 gear is aluminum, correct ? What are some other options with a similar gear ratio? Low profile and small: Alphas SV 5.8, SS 5.3 Round: new Conquest 100 5.2, old Conquest 50 (6.2 but small spo...

What about the Western Flip? I enjoy mine a lot with light bottom contact. it has no problem throwing a 1/8 jig + trailer, a 1/4 jig + trailer is the sweet spot.
