Are you referring to USDM or JDM steez SV? It was my understanding that the USDM steez was very similar to the SS SV

I use some teflon tape that is used for pipe threads, it prevents any slipping and does not leave any residue.

My braid of choice has been 18# samurai with a flouro leader of 4 to 12# depending on cover and expected bass size. Has worked great since Samurai is so thin and limp.

What about the Western Flip? I enjoy mine a lot with light bottom contact. it has no problem throwing a 1/8 jig + trailer, a 1/4 jig + trailer is the sweet spot.
