Re: Kistler back to US made blanks

I'm so out of touch with Falcon... but that's mainly because they haven't really offered anything new in a very long time.

Re: Kistler back to US made blanks

I see Kistler has several rods now with US made blanks, I wonder if they are back using NFC blanks or have someone new? Does it say the blanks are made in the USA, or just that the rod is built here? If they are made here, it could be CUI, Lamiglas or Batson, aside from NFC and ShimLoomis. Kistler ...

Re: Nylon replacement for OG Defier?

I've not tried any of their nylon lines in thinner diameters, but the product from Varivas, overall, is very solid. Might want to look into their stuff.

Re: San Francisco fishing options for a clueless Aussie

I don't know much about the Silicon Valley and South Bay area. Used to live there, but never fished. That's Cal's domain :) Nope.. that's Zander and JIP. I've fished a couple, but I don't really do the local ponds. Delta is just as close for me and I'd rather go there. Clear Lake and the Delta is w...

Re: San Francisco fishing options for a clueless Aussie

Cal, the global moderator here on TT, lives right in that area. If you don't hear anything, maybe send him a PM. Yeah... I got nothing  ... you're about a half a month too early. Largemouth bite really starts picking up in March. Can be had in February for sure, but it's more hit and miss in t...

Re: Chronarch MGL...

I appreciate all the response so far but as an owner of 2 Metanium, 4 Bantam and a few more, I know for sure that the screws go through the frame and into the side handle plate so the new Metanium DC based on that platform should not be any different and yes, all pictures show that to be the case. ...

This get me a little worried about the new Metanium DC. I've heard from a Shimano pro staff
that it's equipped with Ci4+ side plates to keep the weight down which is fine.
Composition of the sideplate is immaterial. The threaded portion is in the frame, not the sideplate.

Re: Swimbait glide bait rod

I’m looking to throw treble hook and jig hooks for swim baits and glide baits in the 7-10 ounce range Technically, you're looking for two different rods. It's the same moving bait vs vertical bait presentation scenario as a stick for crankbaits vs jigs. However, there's more room for forgiveness wi...
