HGs are usually about 7.5:1 and XGs are usually 8.5:1

Monsterfishing does not list a 6.X:1 version. I believe there is an error in thier line capacity for 10#

Re: NRX 894 vs MB Nautilus for 1/2oz jigs in 15 to 20ft

i am not a big fan of the real seat on the NRX casting rods. love the spinning although they are nothing fancy. some do not like the recoil guides. i do. some do not like cork, i do. i remember you mentioned not liking the 89" rods. i wonder what the 894 would feel like with 3 inches cut off and bal...

Re: NRX 894 vs MB Nautilus for 1/2oz jigs in 15 to 20ft

My experience tells me that the smart money would be on the NRX. It's almost impossible to beat them for bottom contact stuff. But that's boring. Why dont you have a 894 stripped down and rebuilt? You will have a "one of a kind" jig rod that could be the best in the world. If you dont end up liking...

Thanks for the replies.

Would you that have used the 873 say that the sensitivity is on par with the 893 and 894? Magnesium reel, of course ;)

Re: Reel Manuals

Thanks, FishShimano but i think those are the parts numbers and reel diagrams.

Could you tell me if these two reels require more oiling than other shimano reels? I thing I read a post saying the manual recommended every 5 trips?

NRX873CRR or NRX854JWR?

Hello, It is my understanding that the power in the NRX rods increases in this order: 893,854,873,894. Please let me know if i am incorrect. I am looking for a NRX rod to pitch and cast 1/2oz jigs and t-rigs with a trailer. I do not want one of the 89"+ rods. I have not read much about the 854 (i ha...

Re: Aldebaran, Metanium or Core?

looks like i have to take a look at one. i noticed that the 2015s are HG and the 2014s are a slower gear. Are they the same reel?

Re: Reel Manuals

I am really interested in knowing how often to oil the reels. I read that they need more maintenance than other reels. My manuals are in Japanese. Tried to take a picture and translate with an app but that didnt work out so well.

Thats what I mainly use my NRX843c for. I think the GLX 843 and 783 handles the 1/2oz + stuff better.

Re: Aldebaran, Metanium or Core?

I'd love to try to Conquest 100HG but I am scared to purchase sight unseen because I am worried about my girl like hands being uncomfortable when palming. I enjoyed fishing the BCR803c with the Aldebaran HG yesterday using a 3/8oz jig plus trailer. I think anything heavier would not feel ideal on th...

Lol this just goes to show nobody reads. :D its an old post. im sure he found a boat. posting advice after trying several kayaks for people who stumble in. the slayer is $1300 btw, but i highly suggest adding a...
