Re: Evergreen Flat Force Leaking
I've beat the heck out to the EG Flat Force cranks since they released them. I've never had a water intrusion issue with them after so many fish catches, banging off wood, rocks, etc. I'd suspect a manufacturing defect here as mine have been fantastic and highly productive.

Re: Any recommendations?
I would absolutely get the new Megabass Destroyer P5 US Javelin. It's a fantastic in between type cranking rod, but very versatile in general. I've thrown everything from the Deep Six to square bills successfully. You will be very happy with the new Javelin.

Re: Have you preordered a mb p5 destroyer?
Has anyone used the new Flyssa? If so, please share your thoughts. Yes indeed. I'm not throwing 1/16 oz northern style hair jigs on it yet, but no doubt it will be an excellent choice for that application by design. It handles spy baits like a champ, is very capable with lighter Ned rigs, and the s...

Re: Ned Rod choices - P5 / NRX+ / AGS
Maybe I'm the outlier but I like long rods for my Ned rigs. A 7'4" is the shortest rod for Neds I have used over the last 5 years (741 Champ HP) and mostly 7'6"s (Steez). Most of my fishing is Great Lakes where long fights with plenty of deep water is the norm where I just let the fish tire itself ...

Re: What Did You Use (Hardbait) to Catch Your PB?
11lb 8 oz. Falcon Lake 2013 - Lucky Craft RC 3.5 Blue Bream. The year before, February of 2012, I caught 5 over 10# on the same day, 53# best 5. The first one was on the same bait, the next 4 were on a Lucky Craft RC 3.5 DD in Blue Bream. I remember it like it was yesterday

Re: Balsa Lures
The Ichiban Balsa Pro has always been a good producer for me. I picked up a few many years back and still use a couple of them from time to time. Etters Custom Baits made some really great crank baits but alas, Jimmie has stopped making baits too. My favorite recent balsa bait is the CAST Fishing Co...

I think I use this in another post somewhere way back in the way back but here's my same answer to this quandry. Some situations leave me with no choice

Re: Shorter MH/H
You've zeroed in on two outstanding choices. You'll love either rod as they are both premium, high performance rods. Yes, the P5 Super Destroyer has a slower action and a little bit more backbone than the more traditional "strong" medium heavy, faster action Steez AGS Target Sniper. Both of these ro...

Re: Finesse plastic/jerkbait rod
Not exactly Megabass but it’s got similar vibes: check out the Steez AGS 69 Universal Light, it’s kind of exactly what you are describing. That's a solid choice indeed. The Steez 69M Universal Light is a great jerk bait rod and very versatile in general. In the US P5 Destroyer line, the Oneten Spec...

Re: Orochi XX price decrease
Yes, Megabass of America authorized retailers to reduce Orochi XX down to $299 and Levante down to $199. It happened a couple weeks back. They are much more competitive at this price point, so I think it was a very good decision on their part.

Re: Have you preordered a mb p5 destroyer?
I'm also in the BMG is a freaking amazing rod camp. The sensitivity is excellent for a rod of its stature and capabilities and the versatility is also impressive. I've thrown everything from a 6" Magdraft, 1/2 oz wobble head, 1 oz jig, heavy cover frog, and then some. Is it as sensitive in an electr...
