Re: X-Bites vs BC2
I haven’t had an X-bites, but it is often referred to as a finesse jig rod. I did have the Steez Utility player. It just didn’t wow me. The AGS guides are also pretty loud with braid. I totally agree with the post above. The 873CRR is the best and most versatile rod I own. The new NRX+ version balan...

Loomis 904c
I currently have an Expride 7’2 MH as my “do it all rod”. T-rigs, underspins, scroungers, wobble heads, dark sleepers, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, etc. I use a NRX+ 873CRR as my jig rod. I am considering getting a NRX+904c to replace this rod. I know it’s not ideal for some of these techniques, but ...

Re: Shimano Japan Renews Their Shining Star : The 2022 Aldebaran BFS
I have the previous version Aldebaran and I love it. It is paired with an Expride 6’10 medium. I primarily use it for jerkbaits (perfect for that technique), but also for poppers, lighter underspins, etc. I have to be honest, I don’t love the looks of the new one. The only thing that would entice me...

Re: What rod for Sustain 3000
I went with the Shimano teremar XX SE 7' M that was recommended. It is a very nice rod. Although it is my saltwater setup, I feel comfortable using it for general bass fishing.

Shimano saltwater bag
My saltwater water bag is looking a little rough. I’m thinking about getting a Shimano Baltica bag (medium). It would double as my “leave in the truck” fish from shore bag. Thoughts?

Re: 2022 Aldebaran BFS
Very nice video Hobie-wan,
I love my current Aldebaran, but if the new model is a better caster, I would probably get it. Have you been able to test that yet?

What rod for Sustain 3000
I just ordered a Sustain 3000 FJ and am looking for rod recommendations. I prefer to stay in the Shimano/Loomis family. I want the most versatile rod to take to the beach. I like to fish around bridges and other inshore areas. Never do any good on the beach. I’m thinking a 7 ft M or MH. Thoughts?

Re: Shimano Expride B Spinning Rods
I have the current 6’10 M casting rod and I love it. Paired with an Aldebaran, it is one of my favorite combos. The new model is listed as a “moderate fast” whereas the old model was a fast. I wonder if anything has changed or if it was really more of a moderate fast all along.

Re: How you liking your 7’3mh Steez ags utility player?
My main jig and worm rod is a NRX+ 873 CRR. I sold my Poison Adrena 7’3 MH which was used as my “versatile” rod to get the Utility Player. I agree with the original post. It hasn’t blown me away. I also bought “The One” 7’6 spinning rod and it hasn’t blown me away either. I will likely sell that one...

Re: Old Nrx 873CRR vs Nrx + 873CRR
I had the old one and the NRX+. I much prefer the NRX +. It has plenty of backbone. I usually have a 1/2 jig tied on and I’m not sure there is a better rod out there for that. I think the weight is actually the same, but the new model balances better and has a more comfortable reel seat. I love it p...

Re: 2021 steez ags rods
I have NRX+ rods as well as 2 Steez rods. I have not been blown away with “the one”. 7’6 MML. It’s maybe a little overhyped. I’m a long time Loomis user so there could be some built in bias. I took out my NRX+ 873CRR and new Steez 7’3 Versatile Player. I tied on the same jig and alternated back and ...

Re: 2021 STEEZ SMT THE SENSOR
I picked up my first Steez, the Utility Plater. So far I like it. I currently use a Poison Adrena 6’11 M+ as my primary top water rod. It also throws underspins, free rigs, etc. How would the Sensor be for those techniques? Most of my top waters are 1/2-5/8.

NRX+ or Steez Bottom Contact II?
I am a long time Loomis guy, but I’m thinking of branching out. Does anyone have experience with a 873 CRR or 894 and the new Steez Bottom contact II? I would mainly be using it for 1/2 jigs with trailer. I will also throw 3/8 from time to time.
