Re: Sub 2oz, Booyah.
Sounds interesting, do you have any pictures? Thanks. Here you go. Pic doesn't do it justice though. The leather makes a really good seat. It gives a really secure hold on the reel without the need to overtighten. There is absolutely zero play on the reel foot. If it wears, it's easily replaced, ma...

I've now changed that as it was a bit too tight on the reel foot. The composite cork is now black deerskin .ipoppa33 wrote:Nice job, really like the reel seat in the grip.

Re: Micro jig rod for trout
Based on some of my own experience the Japanese style LRF (Light Rockfishing) rods are perfect for this application - these were originally designed to fish tiny jigs / grubs for small saltwater rockfish in harbours. There are 2 styles, solid and hollow tip and are usually rated 2-6lb and CW from 1...

Definately food for thought. With the Twinpower it scales 8.5oz, which is no slouch.Katron wrote:You should pair it with the new Exist at 5.46oz (155g) and have a combo under 8oz

Ah, the penny drops. We call them stripeys or sometimes sergeant major fish. We have those aplenty. My best yet sits at 5lb 6oz, so I live in hope. Our natve roach and chub also have red fins.Ranger 619VS wrote:Skinhead,
I meant Perch. Thought you had alot of them in England.

It certainly is. It's a splash anodized Super 4. The other is a J. W. Youngs Revolution 8350, another piece of hand made perfection.Katron wrote:Is that fly reel on the left a custom color Abel?
