Re: Your opinion about the Z2020 in 2023.

I don't yet have had any issues with clutch despite of Gomexus TPE knobs are 2,34 times heavier than standard knobs. But now I'm planning to switch those to lighter ones, because for just in case. Mine is standard crank. I don't need it bigger because I don't use this reel for pike fishing.

Re: Reel Foot Scratches + Saltwater

I use shrink tubes for reel foot protection, similar like this Youtuber:

Re: Your opinion about the Z2020 in 2023.

The only thing I really disliked in Z2020 was standard knobs. But now I installed Gomexus knobs, and those I like much:

Re: Magforce-Z induction activation revolutions?

There was discussion about ~3 years ago whether there is attractive dynamic forces between inductor and magnets or not. Currently I'm pretty sure there is not such forces. Only existing force is force against moving direction, which is rotation, and to brake it. Or actually it generates both attract...

Strange spriral wrapping in a Crystar 55 BF-master; first one guide is in aligned different than usual. It point's to reel, not to te tip of rod:

Re: Thicker/Heavier FC for BFS reel

I use over thick FC leader to create floating force during reeling, making it easier to fish in really shallow conditions. And long one FG knot is really good marker to see what's happening in the end of line similar to indicator in fly fishing, especially in case off there's murky waters and it's i...

Re: Thicker/Heavier FC for BFS reel

I use in most my BFS fishing 33.5 lb / 0.49 mm FC leader. My leaders are length of rod - I don't reel knot in. Attached by FG knot. Works well but not in lightest rods and smallest micro guides.

Re: Your most versatile rod?

Daiwa Whisker Salmon 9` (270cm) 10-40g . It's my heavy seatrout boat rod. It's actually salmon rod, but it's not bad for trout either. It cast's good, it is nearly too stiff for trout. It's not parabolic action, it's more moderate action, but still not bad for trout. Moreover it's good rod for pike...

Re: Zillion HLC

Thats great news! But why did you swap the stock handle for some $10 ebay one? Because original wasn't nice looking in my eyes and it wasn't ergonomically good in my fingers and it didn't provide enough friction to my fingers. That I swapped is better. But of course I keep this original crank in sa...

Re: Magforce-Z induction activation revolutions?

Before I start I'll make this very clear: My comments do not target anyone and have only the objective of bringing true understanding of the mechanism behind the Air braking system. With that in mind: Daiwa France has no idea how the Air braking system works because there isn't any centrifugal forc...
