I saw the Gen 2 ZPIs and it got the monkey getting restless. It also has me rationalizing too. "Hmmm, the AE74 was a base Abu with ZPI toy add-ons? What's the diff? Right?"
I don't know... Did you see the tear down and service pictures from The Tackle Trap?

Re: TDZ 100M and SV Light

The SV light didn’t stay long had to replace it. The Edge 704 rod lends itself to much more than semi-finesse I have a slew of edge rods, and the 704 is a standout. When I head out on foot patrol around town and am only taking one rod; that's usually the one. That 704 has made my blunders not feel ...

Sounds to me like what you need is a MH/F-XF jig rod like this:

Re: Deep cranking rod

cost effective way to go on it is the tatula elite 8ft cranking rod. i have 2 and theyre pretty legit. based off that zillion model theyre talking about. Is that rod thick at the bottom or does it look straight graphite until the first guide and then looks obviously glass? The Zillion looks like it...

Re: Wart style baits

Those evergreen cr series like the cr-8 is a huntin little bait. They are expensive but.......they come with some impressive hooks on em. Nasty sharp and strong You can't beat evergreen baits. They're worth every penny for their action, construction, components, everything. Also, I second (or third...

Re: Deep cranking rod

I also have that 8' glass composite Zillion and aside from the fact that it's actually 7'11", it's a killer cranking rod. It's a great deep cranking rod, yeah, but it's also good for 1/2 squarebills and shallower cranks, too, not to mention straight-pull topwaters. Because it has a composite constru...

Re: Auction site gems

I wish I could insert the Grinch gif of him saying, "Eeeerrrr, yup." I couldn't believe it when I saw it, plus I also found another reel that has a bunch parts that I've been looking for. So now I have 3 coming my way, but two are getting sent back out once I do a little parts swapping. Lucky devil...

That feeling you get when you pick up a custom painted, well tuned Alphas (for a great price), then find another Alphas with a Megabass Zonda BFS spool for $140... \:D/ :big grin:

Re: Bfs rod questions

Makes sense. I was definitely surprised by how much backbone the msx UL feels like it has (haven't actually used it yet. Waiting on a reel). It's so light and thin seems like it would be a noodle but it's definitely got a backbone. It's no noodle, but if you hook into to a big, angry bass you best ...

Re: Lets see all them Daiwa's

OG Steez 103hl/NRC001-M/MS-X 65ML how's the braking force with that spool inside the og steez? is the control reasonably good with fluoro or is it wild as hell like the R and R+ spools when used in the older steez? Curious as well. Might be kicking myself for letting the of steez go if the Zpi spoo...

That old lime green zpi spool is the sheet. I'm surprised no one has tried to powder coat or anodized a spool around here. When those painted zpi spools came out, I remember someone asking how much weight the paint would add. Only on here, lol.
That was my first thought, I admit.
