I upgraded my Conquest 101HG with the 96mm handle from the Ocea Conquest 200/201 PG. I wanted to keep the factory look as much as possible.

Re: It’s 2018, why are you buying reels from the past
In the last few years I've bought both older classics (OG Zillion, OG Steez, TD-Z) as well as newer reels (18 Ryoga, Curado K, Tatula CT). I've enjoyed fishing them all.

Re: Weak Drag on OG Zillion
what type of line are you using? I would try again with new washers and no grease to see if that helps. Drag should have been restored with new washers. I am using braid on that reel. I've put some electrical tape around the spool before putting the braid on. I forgot to mention but I've also tried...

Weak Drag on OG Zillion
I bought a used OG Zillion awhile back from Japan for a pretty good price. Everything seems pretty good with it internally and it feels smooth but the drag seem especially weak. I literally have to lock down the drag star as tight as I could for it to be usable, I would estimate about 3lbs of drag o...

Re: NEW: Daiwa Tatula 100 (based off Steez)
Daiwa updated their website and the 7.3 gear ratio is now a 7.1. Looks like it is a 34mm spool after all.

The IPT listed on Daiwa's website suggests it has a 33mm spool

Re: Daiwa customer service could not help, maybe you can?
Plat is a good place to get the parts. I've ordered from them before and it has always worked out. I would suggest trying to get it locally first. I don't think Daiwa USA sells those parts separately, probably because 99% of users don't actually open up the spool assembly, instead they sell it as a ...

Re: My Collection of Reels
Now you need a sweet finesse spinning set-up Wow. I have not updated this thread in a long time. Too many reel acquisitions since then. I think I'm up to 16 casting reels now. I do have one spinning setup, a Shimano Saros 3000 paired with a Megabass Levante Shakeyhead. I guess I just don't use the ...

Re: Reviews out on new 2018 Ryoga?
I just spooled my Ryoga 1520 with 0.40mm mono line. I got 278 feet (~92-93 yards) on.
Daiwa specs it at 100m/110yards for 0.37mm line. Seems pretty accurate to me.

Re: Is there a way to increase the braking force on the OG Steez?
I've tried 2 SV spools in my Steez. Each spool has it's own personality. If I recall correctly, the SV103 spool (longer inductor), I have the brake setting on about 3-4/10. No higher than 4.5 The Zillion G1 SV spool, the brake is set higher usually around 6-7/10 up to around 8 max. I've tried the 10...

Re: Daiwa Zillion handle
The new Zillion TW HD definitely has a different handle and knob design I haven't seen before. Possibly it is just not compatible with the other standard Daiwa knobs. http://www.daiwa.com/jp/resources/fishing/item/reel/bait_rl/zillion_tw_hd/Zillion_tw_hd1520SHL_l.png?keepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&hei...

Re: Deciphering Daiwa Model numbers
It is all platform dependent. In the three digit spools, they are as follows: Td-z 100m us trail and Zillions interchange Alphas and Sols interchange TD-z 103 and Steez interchange These are all "100" sized platforms. Although the SV103 is in a Zillion frame, it is not a Zillion!! The Alphas SV105 ...

Re: Deciphering Daiwa Model numbers
I'll take a shot at explaining Daiwa's naming scheme... (correct me if I am wrong) The 4 digit designation is more specific and will tell you spool diameter and capacity. The first 2 digits are spool diameter and the last 2 are spool capacity. First 2 digits: 10 = 34mm 15 = 36mm 20 = 38mm Last 2 dig...
