Shimano quality seems to be dropping from what I have heard lately. Good luck ill probly stick to my DXs. Price point is more balanced for what you are getting amd customer support is second to none. Haven't see much issue with nrx in the shop, dx are nicer than before and the guide issue is fixed....

I only tried the NRX once on a really windy day before I sent it back to G. Loomis, so I didn't get the chance to notice the "it" factor. I also have a Dobyns Champion 683C, which is awesome. Finally got to break in and test my Alphas Air after this Colorado blizzard this past Wednesday. Was using the reel on my Dobyns Champion DX 701C with a 3 inch 1/4 oz swimbait tied on when this guy took it. I have a DX and love it to the max. I'm afraid if I touch the NRX I will want one as well. But i believe it's a good rod as many have metioned but Im happy with my DX. Can't go wrong.

I received my Recon 2 last week from Monster as well. Thankfully mines was great with no issues. But what service by Vince and Phenix! Makes me want to try out other phenix rods
