Powell 684 CB rod reviews, PLEASE!
I have agreed with the bait monkey and decided I need to add another cranking rod to the stash. He totally rationalized it ... but I digress. I ONLY crank with graphite, having no taste to glass or composite rods! hat being said, has anyone used the Powell 684 CB? if so, what are your thoughts? Gene...

Re: Need Help: Calling all Crankbait Addicts .
I threw the Daiwa Peanut today and caught two small stripes in 4 casts ... unfortunately, I was in a T. :( I picked up some Daiwa Shadmasters as an alternate to the Shad Raps, but have yet to throw one. Rapala made a classic with those! I will have to say they are a pain to throw on casting gear and...

Re: Need help choosing a new baitcasting combo
I concur with Gadget! I want a HSTA even though I need a rod to put it on ... so maybe I need a new combo. Yeah ... a whole new combo!

Re: Bait Monkey Information
I'll see if I can't find a pic of him in his "normal" outfit, reelblues! My understanding is this was taken from a classified document by an Area 51 employee ... I also think Puma Jeff has about 7 at his place ... maybe 9. =)))) ** edited because even though I need to go to work, I am going ...

Chronarch handle for the Scorp 1000
Hey folks,
Does anyone know if it is cheaper to order the Chronarch (SF?) handle directly from Shimano instead of using a retailer for it?
TIA,
Will

Re: lipless cranks
hey secret, don't give up on traps yet! i live in central va as well and now is a great time to be throwing them! considering all the rivers we have in our area, they are a staple bait. consider throwing a 1/4 oz. on 15lbs mono for a slower fall, but i generally fish them fast over/around grass to c...

Re: Do fluorocarbon coated and hybrid lines sink?
I also like P-line copoly, but after throwing a small popper on the 15lb, I found it did sink a bit ...
Put the same popper on a big game spooled reel and no sinking. Both lines were dry (first casts on each reel) as I used them at the beginning of the day.
Just my opinion ....

Re: Help in pricing!
Much obliged, Backcast! You ask a good question, but I would say "yes" to the split grip/exposed blank! Someone said a while ago that getting custom rods is an awful addiction and they were right! Don't get me wrong, these rods are still great and I would even use the blanks for customs, but as stoc...

Thanks, guys!
I took the Curado 100D instead and it did very well. got home, rinsed it off and no problems at all as I used it in a T a week later!

Help in pricing!
Hey folks, It seems the bait monkey has been giving me grief about HIS desire to get more/different combos! I'd like to ask the members about their thoughts on these combos or pieces sold separately. I am just not sure if I can get enough for the combos to justify selling them! The only reason I am ...

Re: Metanium Mg7 and light lures
Jeff, You're killing me, bro! The monkey asks you give up your source!!!! Is it really that different/difficult to pitch light? After changing the handle of my scorp 1000, it rocks! I recently got a Curado 100D and found out it has greased bearings instead of oiled, making it a little slower in pitc...
