Re: BFS going mainstream? Curado BFS
This is going to be super popular, at least here in EU. People are using plenty of chinese BFS reels because they do not wanna pay for a high-end reel. Those reels while work, nowhere near as good as a Curado. I see plenty of people to step-up, as it is still significantly cheaper than an Aldebaran ...

Re: What would happen to Megabass without Yuki Ito?
I know Megabass isn’t the “thing” in japan these days. And it’s become more of an American enthusiast brand than a Japanese one. I do not know if it is true or not, but being successful in the US would bring in more money than being successful in Japan, at least the size of the market seems bigger.

Re: Is there that much "junk" line making it to shelves?
As far as junk line goes, I got some YKG G-Soul Upgrade Braid Fishing Line PE x8 #1 22lb and also the 50lb. I did some benck break strength tests and find the 22lbs breaks at about 10lbs and the 50lb breaks at about 15lbs! For a comparison I checked some Superslick 8 rated 15lb and it breaks at 18l...

Re: New St. Croix Bass Rod
Everything I hear being mentioned is about how balanced and light they are. But I wonder how they will compare to the new Legend Xtreme Ags rods they just came out with. The legend Xtreme rods are light but they aren’t exactly the lightest sticks on the market, but they are balanced very well. So i...

Re: New St. Croix Bass Rod
Gotta say I am not excited. Clearly not an Avid X replacement as it has giant crappy guides on the spinning rod. Yes, I am a guide snob, but if you can't put Fuji KLH guides (or even kigan copy) on a rod over $200, something is wrong. When the guides weigh 2-3 times as much as they should, it throw...

Re: 2021 Shimano Reels
Wonder if we will see a Curado BFS? https://fishshop.shimano.com/products/curado-bfs Here's another link from the EU site - https://fish.shimano-eu.com/content/fish/eu/gb/en/homepage/Product-detail.P-CURADO_BFS.html CURADO_BFS_1250x1250px_V1.jpg I hope this is not true, simply because if it is, I h...

Re: Is it true that US and Japanese line manufacturers have different lb rating system
Be smart like the Europeans and choose your line by the diameter for apples to apples comparisons. Forget the lb. test listed on the box, it will only confuse you. I'm from EU and let me tell you, line diameters are also all-over the place here. Many manufacturers lie about the line diameter and th...

Re: Favorite 15-20lb braid main line for spinning reels?
Either they have bumped every size up a notch in EU or there is some sort of mixup between PE ratings, pound ratings and mm diameter ratings. The 0,08 mm morethan is visually way smaller then the 0,12mm morethan. I have also noticed this with Berkley line numerations/classifications, the mm rating ...

Re: Favorite 15-20lb braid main line for spinning reels?
Daiwa Morethan 12 carrier braid in 0,08mm. Extremely abrasion resistant, round, not a single complaint. Counterfeit? The smallest diameter Morethan comes in 0.128mm maybe in america, widely available in 0,08 in EU If you look at the picture here: http://www.daiwa.de/dw/en/products_1/braided_lines_1...

Re: Tatula Hate vs newer shimanos
Even Daiwa and Shimano are offshoring some of the manufacturing. I never heard of a Shimano reel which is not produced by Shimano. Can you please show an example? I was under the impression that Shimano is the only reel company that completely makes their own reels. They dont make all of the parts ...
