Re: 2 piece JDM rods any problems vs 1 piece?
any problems with big sensitivity loss vs a 1 piece in rods like the poison glorious or poison ultima? also when casting is there any chance the pieces can split and go flying into the water like budget rods do? Whole Europe is fishing with 2 piece rods, they work just fine. If they are properly pu...

Re: Gamakatsu Luxxe Avenge
Yep, you are reiterating what has already been said. And in regards to Daiwa, it's known that Tim openly admitted that he really liked his Steez reels (when T.B. first started out). That the Exist and Certates are rarely if ever noted, when Stellas and Twin Power and Exsence is recommended, has not...

Re: Gamakatsu Luxxe Avenge
Matt Allen just posted a rave review on it in his $500 combo video for this year. https://youtu.be/cAtbntQHpv4 As much as I really enjoy Tactical Bassin'...their preferred equipment is clearly slanted. Their excuse has been the T-Wing keeping them from recommending more Daiwa higher end reels (sinc...

Re: New Expride B 6’10 M impressions
There was even a time when Tim Little was allowed for have his Steez reels and some other Daiwas on deck, let alone even mention the "D" word....whistle while they work with their contract agreement now. To think they don't talk about Daiwa's top tier products because they don't like them...

Re: New Expride B 6’10 M impressions
TacticalBassin has a historical bias towards Shimano. Their exact affiliation with the company has never been made clear, but there are old videos where Matt Allen is listed as a Shimano team angler. Even if they’re not actually affiliated these days I just don’t see him ever saying negative things...

Re: Shimano Expride Thoughts??
Does anyone have the new Expride B 6’10 M who previously had the old one. I have a couple of Expride B’s and was all set to buy the 6’10, but I’ve read on other forums that the new model is stiffer and not as good for jerkbaits. Can anyone weigh in? If you do not want to risk it, just get the old o...

Re: Shimano Expride Thoughts??
I have the 6 10 medium, the 2 piece 2017 JDM version. I absolutely love that rod, exactly what I wanted. It is in my permanent collection now, do not plan to replace it. On the other hand it is difficult to say how good they are. I mean even Shimano has their own higher end series, so it is not the...

I do not think that these are in production anymore. I think the Kuying is just leftover stock at this stage, there are not many on aliexpress now.

Re: So what happened to Major Craft?
I haven’t dug into Major Crafts communication about manufacturing so that’s a general statement: you need to be careful when anyone uses the term „our factory“… doesn’t exactly mean they own it but could also be loosely worded for their business partner. This is what they have on their own site: ht...

Re: So what happened to Major Craft?
I thought Major Craft built their own blanks in their factory? Is Kuying buying them direct from Major Craft? When I was into Major Craft, they had pictures on their website of their plant and blank manufacturing process/equipment. That was my understanding as well, they have their own factory in V...

Re: 2022 exist first impression
I agree about the high end quality control being off, I have seen more than a few reports of both Daiwa and Shimano letting some lemons through at the highest/higher end reels, even had it happen to me. These are usually not lemons, just not properly greased and assembled at the end. It can be corr...

Re: Tuning a us legalis lt
I cannot answer your question, but what I want to say is that you cannot really upgrade that reel to be similar to a high-end reel. Adding more ball bearings are one thing, but the tight tolerances the higher end reels have is not really possible to replicate. You can play around with washers to mak...

Re: Aliexpress Knock Off Plastics
I do not know the exact baits you talk about, but here in EU, specially the eastern part the Aliexpress soft baits are popular. Generally speaking it is more difficult to copy a soft bait than the hard baits. There are a million different copies on the site, some are nice, some are pretty poor. The ...

Re: USED Rod buying for Overseas
Used rods are used, there is no way around it. If the rod has a metallic cap or something similar which is easy to scratch, this is something they cannot clean up. People who sell used rods, they know how to clean a rod properly to look like new, but some marks cannot be removed. If the seller is re...
