Re: Do You Use Spinning Reels?

love my spinning setups.

last week we fished a number of days in a row with high winds. Casting light poppers and cranks into the wind was much easier (and more accurate) on the spinning setups.

Re: Frog perfection

there's a brand of frog called "The Perfect Frog".

I've used them..good hooks, but found the plastic a bit firmer than the Spro Bronzeye frog.

Re: Berkley’s PowerBait Infused Spinnerbaits – The Power Blade Series

thank you Sir.

I didn't realize hand tied meant "non elastic". But now it's making sense in the numerous descriptions I've read for spinnerbaits, jigs, and chatterbaits.

kind of an obvious oversight on my part.

those skirts wire-tied on, or are they elastics?

appreciate the review. looks like a decent spinnerbait.

Re: Jerkbait rod

I use my nrx 802s.

I'm all about using rods for multiple techniques. I use the 802s for many techniques. Top water popper and jerk baits are two of my favourites.

Re: Ryugi Pierce Tc Treble Hook

you'll find there is a technique to remove the hooks from a bass mouth. Kinda roll and turn them. try your very best not to use plyers. The triple grip hooks are a bit soft (due to their thin gauge). I've never had a bass bend a hook though. I also use them for walleye (up to 15lbs). Every once and ...

I use the GLX 854 for chatter baits.

It doesn't feel like an overkill.

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!

thanks for that info! sounds like how we target brook trout here (or native brown trout, but not many of those). If I'm fishing a small stream a mepps #3 is my first go-to. My family if from Finland. Next time there I'll jump on the ferry and join ya for some Trout! Thanks again my friend and wish y...

Amazing!

I didn't see your "location".

Those are beautiful fish!

Do you mind sharing how you caught them?

Re: Ryugi Pierce Tc Treble Hook

all my jerkbaits have had hooks changed to the thin gauge triple grips. they are lighter than stock hooks, and when talking about bass, are the best hooks on the planet. Just try to get one off the hook - you'll see. my fishing partner stopped using them because they work "too good" and are a ...

nice browns!

those must be lake run fish, not resident browns?

I'm guessing you are in the great lakes region?

Great fish!

Browns are my favourite Trout species (by far).

Re: Moving baits...NRX MBR vs IMX Pro...

they are different classes of rods. You won't find 'many' anglers who have both IMX's and NRX's on their casting deck. I have one IMX on my boat. I use it for frogging and heavy spinner baits in thick cover. I can't think of a case aside from heavy presentations where sensitivity isn't required that...

Re: Weighted worms

Lowrange, I agree. Fully. But my fishing partner constantly puts fish in the boat on a weighted senko. It's to the point where it has become a running joke. He'll catch another fish on a weighted senko and say "Yep, weighted Senko's don't catch fish". One day I was fishing the upper niagara river, w...
