Re: Does made in USA matter?
I would have to agree with everyone here. Many rods, reels, etc. are made in the same place, in the same factories - so buying something from a company in one country or another doesn't always mean it's manufactured there (it may just be assembled there). Good quality can come from anywhere, really....

Re: Budget Sweet Spot... Casting Reels
I tend to keep my reels under $200, and that works well for what I do. I found some KastKing reels last year that worked as well as my $150 reels that I was using - but they were much better in price. I haven't had any issues with them, so it seems like a good purchase so far. I know they wouldn't c...

Re: Floating soft bait for Carolina Rig?
I hear of so many people throwing C-rigs, but I haven't done it much. Where d o you guys use Carolina rigs the most? I usually fish slow, maybe too slow sometimes, but this rig seems perfect for that kind of fishing. Curious if you guys could tell me the best situations or structure to fish it in. T...

Re: Braid lb for swimbaits
Any time I throw braid it's usually 65 lb., and I use that for my swimbaits as well. For me, I guess you just never know when you're going to have to get a fish out of some heavy cover and, being a reaction bait, I don't think you can go "too heavy" - within reason, of course.

Re: Pink Braided Line
I know quite a few people that have spooled up with pink braid for things cancer awareness. A friend of mine has done several tournaments with that kastking pink and she really likes it. I went with the moss green color, but I agree that I haven't had any problems with it. It performs well and is lo...

Re: What's your thoughts on bed fishing?
This is always an interesting topic to me. I am not one to bed fish in a tournament setting. I believe it affects mortality too much. However, because I live in the north, and the "off season" is fairly long, I will take a trip or two to one specific lake and catch a few off of beds, just to get the...

Re: How to get sponsors?
While I would agree that being able to do well in tournaments is somewhat important, being a marketer is more important to most sponsors. They want to know that you have a circle of influence and that people will take your recommendations. Social media presence has become a good way for sponsors to ...

Off season fitness
Just curious what everyone does here to stay in shape for the next tournament season. There's nothing worse than suffering fatigue halfway through the day in the beginning of the season. I have a few exercises that I do for balance and forearm strength, etc. I was curious what others do.
