Re: Daiwa Ringa

Hi guys, Have always wanted a RinGa since the tackletour review. That is one sweet looking reel. Just wanted to know if anyone on the forum had one and what they think of it. Also what they use it for would be fantastic. BTW Ginrin is still way way cheap - $100 AUD less than Plat which is next chea...

Re: Limited colors in Megabass Pop Max...

Unlike many other lure companies, Megabass changes their color palate from year to year and from product to product. Furthermore, each lure is individually labelled with the year in which it was produced. Some colors were only offered in a specific year. Many were offered for only a few years. This...

Re: Megabass for finesse plastics?

sounds pretty sweet by your description Johnny... the Hien has been on my list for a while. Just waiting for them to update the grip to something more "interesting" ;) lol Well, the ol' light bulb finally appeared over my head on this one ... the Hien would probably make an excellent dropshot rod. ...

Re: Megabass for finesse plastics?

No, just the basic model. I've thought about purchasing the art model though. That went out the window when my outboard crapped out, need some maintenance work done.

Re: Megabass for finesse plastics?

I fished the Hien a few times before I sold it. It was one of the most unique action rods I have used. It reminded me of a cane pole. Real limber tip, then extremely stiff. A quick illustration; I picked up a LM bass about 3 lbs and the rod had no bend except at the extreme top of the rod. I've been...

Re: Megabass for finesse plastics?

get an Exist Steez 2004, match it with the F3-610DGS, and you may forget you have a Pixy ;) Otherwise, personally, I'd match the Pixy up with the Hien or Mhood's favorite, the Elese. The other alternative, would be to make the Pixy-Stein modifications to your spare Pixy and get the F6-69X or F7-711...

Re: Megabass GTC Kaede - Report

GH ... my Yuki comment was a bit facetious ... I just think we are contemporaries of a genius. Think of it as living in the same era as DaVinci or Edison or Jefferson. Each of ito's creations must overcome a higher standard. For that reason he branches out into different areas.

Re: Megabass GTC Kaede - Report

I am hearing end of year 2006. I have also heard it will never make it to production. I have translated that it would appear Yuki has had some creative blocks. This reel is suppose to be some retro throwback that will last you a lifetime. I would not doubt if it does make it , that it will not nece...

Re: Megabass GTC Kaede - Report

GH, when is that ITO reel coming out? I may hold out and use that on the GTR instead of a DC100. Got any info, that picture is all I can find on the net and everything is in Japanese. I heard Novemer....is that correct? Fill us in if you can, JohnnyA....chime in too if you can. I would predict the ...

Re: lucky craft/megabass lures question

Skeet- On the pointers, are you fishing those just in cold water? I normally only fish my suspending jerkbaits starting around 58degrees and colder. I was wondering if something made a pointer 78 or 100 better in warmer water. thanks Water density changes with temperature, until 39.4 F. The colder ...

Re: Megabass for finesse plastics?

I don't recommend the "Hien" for finesse plastics. The action/taper is unique from any other rod I have used, JDM or USDM. The best way I can describe it is extra-fast from tip to about 15"-18" down the rod, after that point I would classify it as medium. If you were willing to take a bit of a risk ...
