Re: Mend It
Mend it is definitely not the same as crazy glue. mend it is actually a galvanizing fluid, much like the glue used for bike tube patches. It actually melts the plastic surfaces it is applied to then dries, creating a chemical bond. also crazy glue tends to get hard/crusty because it will dry out, wh...

Re: Tips for good baitcasting
In terms of accuracy, You might wanna start off flipping. It gives you a good sense of bait placement as well as lure entry into the water. It's awesome when u get a good flip and you're lure doesn't even make a ripple. From then you can move onto pitching which, to me has similar mechanics, but all...

Re: Shimano Caenan?
THIS! haha, I was looking for a sub 100 dollar workhorse baitcasting reel, didn't like the feel of the caenan at all. I ended up buying an okuma cayenne on sale, this was before the citica's were on sale. :[steve1206 wrote: It just feels awful when you pick it up...

Re: Help Me Pick My First Finesse Rod
I generally use spinning gear for finesse fishing :P, but I've been looking into baitcasting gear too. As for spinning gear I owned a Powell Max 704, that I used for mostly senkos, but also shaky head and drop shotting, some folks go with the 703 because the tip is a hair softer. I also have a Daiwa...

Re: Those bad trebles
Looks like your not the only one annoyed with trebles. folks in japan must not like them either if they develop their putting out cranks stock with single hooks. http://i53.tinypic.com/kcxohg.jpg maybe you could try using those owner stingers on your cranks after taking off the split rings n trebles

Re: Night Fishing
I'll be doing this too. Going with mainly top water, buzz baits, poppers and stickbaits/chuggers, back ups are bluegill pattern lipless cranks and black senkos blue flake. If your going for the big mommas though try frogs or a rat bait .

second on the quantum iron, crazy amounts of backplay in the handle, and a sticky levelwind, but I use it in the surf when I dont want my nice stuff to get busted/salty haha. good workhorse reel though when it worked. also a shimano corsair 400a, worst 50 bucks I spent.

Re: Trouble deciding on DS rod...
my vote would be for the powell 702 or even a 703, I owned a 703 and used it for mainly for senkos and a bit of shakey head and drop shot fishing as well, the tip is just a bit stiffer so not 100% ideal for drop shotting but it does well if your only getting your feet wet in the spinning game and wa...

Re: daiwa TDX help
thanks all for the advice, I actually popped it back into place, no glue and cranked the magnetic cast control up to 5-8, I was practicing pitching with the mags set to zero, and then went to do a pretty hard cast, and the mags were fully backed off, so i guess that gave the ring enough room to pop ...

daiwa TDX help
Hey all, wondering if I could get some input from experienced reel mechs. So I recently bought a refurbished Daiwa TDX, casted great for about the first 50 casts. After that I casted and got a pretty wicked back lash mid-cast, to the point where I heard a loud squeak coming from the reel, coupled wi...
