Re: I need some new fishing bibs, help.

I have both BPS Pro Qualifier and the Under Armour bibs. They're both awesome. Both repel wind and water great. I had the UA ones on in Erie last year with wind at 40mph, spray coming over the bow, and stayed warm and dry. You can't go wrong with either. I like the look of the UA ones slightly bette...

Re: Ever use a GLoomis escape casting rod?

I have the MBR-783-2C GLX. (2-piece) Fishes just like the one piece. No complaints. The hard case with it is also excellent for travelling. I have this stick and have to agree its great. I had the ML escape spinning rod...in my opinion the escape rods lacked attention to detail, especially for the ...

Re: Daiwa Rod fan...Save me from myself or give me some insi

Why would you not try one first to see if you like them before purchasing eleven at one time? Just curious. LOL...trust me...it was a grand mistake ...actually it cost a bit over a grand. As I said I am a Daiwa rod fan...loved the L&T series...have a bunch of Zillions that I love as well. I never e...

Re: Anyone dump SPINNING all together??

I'd dump casting gear before my spinning. Something about hearing my drag scream with 6lb line and a big 'ol smallmouth pulling at the other end keeps me coming back.

Re: Drop Shot Hooks-

I just picked up some Trokars, looking to see their performance this year. What's everyone's feelings on a "true" dropshot hook versus an octopus?

Re: Steez Question

I'll echo Steve's suggestion. Great reels, but much better deals to be had. I'd buy used, can be had for much less than $400. Keep your eyes on the for sale board.

Re: Medium Light Rods

A ML spinning stick is plenty, with ratings of 4-10 and 1/8-3/8. You'll be fine with smallies and eyes on that stick. I prefer the ML over the M in most rod ratings. Although the power rating is largely manufacturer dependant, the line/lure weight generally give you a better idea.

Re: Anybody noticed any difference in the newer YUM rubber?

The original 4" dinger was awesome. The new F2 dingers aren't the same. Stiff, and just generally do not have the same action. When I find the original dingers, I buy 'em up!

Re: NRX cuts in recoil guides

They just bumped the prices on their rods, jumped the price of the Xpeditor, and someone thinks they still need $20 to evaluate the rod? The price of warranty service is already built in, IMO. If Shimano didn't want to evaluate warranty issues they shouldn't have used recoil guides, and run the TiSi...

Re: Favorite Spinning Reel Seat

That's the only issue for me. I'm going to order an aero as well as a VSS. If all else fails ill go to the skeleton with cork insert (which is the most comfortable for me anyway IMO).

Favorite Spinning Reel Seat

Just like the title says. What's your favorite seat? I'm working on a new st. Croix stick and can't decide.

Re: nrx vs. glx

Nrx is a great rod. I would absolutely encourage you go go with an HM from Northfork Composites. Paying retail and modifying an nrx is not worth the cost for the finished product.
