Thoughts on Microguides
Since we are in the process of rebuilding, I thought I would revisit an old topic. ;) I just recently purchased my first micro guide rod to see what all the hype was about. I was looking for a "value" rod for lite plastics, and paired it with my Alphas 103H. As a result of some helpful input from fo...

Re: Which grease for knob bearings or oil?
Basically a personal choice. I use oil as I like the see the knobs spin freely (and use Ardent oil). Others choose to use grease as it makes the reel appear to operate more smoothly. Really no right or wrong on this question Only caution, if you are using oil with cork knobs..I wouldn't recommend H...

Re: Ima Squarebill
I love the IMA Flit and IMA Roumba. If this lure is anything like the prior two, I am sure it will be excellent.

Re: Which Dobyns Champion for...?
What kind of reel will you be using? I would personally go with a 683C, the extra power wouldn't hurt, especially for what you are throwing. I fish on the Cali Delta where there is a lot of vegetation at times, and use a DX744C with a Zillion 50th for spinner baits.

Re: Differences in Alphas reels
Would someone please list the main differences between the Alphas reels - 103 (purple one), F, Type R, R tuned, Ito ai, and whatever else I missed? Thanks. :D Perry I can tell you that the purple 103 has corrosion resistance ball bearings. Check out japan tackle as well, they have all of them liste...

Quantum Smoke vs. Lew's reel
Is it just me or is the Quantum Smoke and Lew's Tournament Pro Speed Spool Casting Reel utilizing the same frame? I thought about picking up a Lew's Tournament Pro Speed Spool reel up, but was wondering if anyone has gotten to open one up? What are the guts, and particularly the drag like? Any thoug...

Which Line Do You Prefer for Lite Plastics?
Hi TT,
Trying to figure out what kind of mono to use on my Pixilla for very lite plastics. I figure that I will be using 6-8 pound test. Any suggestions? Thanks.
