Re: Curado 50e drag star ?'s
Core drag stars will work. You will need the following to do the swap and you will reuse your spring and pin to make the new one click. Cost about 30 bucks. You can also replace the bushings in each knob to give 2 bearings pr knob part number 4120. I did this to mine , it's sweet now. I also replace...

LED vs Flourescent blacklight
Which is better? I know LED is the new craze but I haven't fished with one yet, are they that much better than the old bulb? Or would you still reccomend a stan sloan?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Stradic FI handle play *Bantam
I have a stradi FI 2500 and it has considerable handle play. I compared it to my ci4 and my stradic FI 3000 and they feel very solid. The slack I am refering to is when you hold the rotor still and wiggle the handle. I notice it when fishing the 2500 and I do not notice it on my 3000 or my CI4 2500 ...

Re: Not impressed with Stratic CI4 2500
I must have gotten an absolute gem when I purchased mine, It is my favorite reel for smallies. I am actually getting ready to pick up another, I use 6lb test and have never had an issue with the drag. (feels just like my FI's) I feel like the retrieve was much smoother than my FI's and I like having...

Re: Wal-mart steps up in rod market
Ha! our walmart has all fishing stuff behind locked glass just like the guns! If I want to buy a 2 dollar jig they have to take it to the service desk. They say that bait is the number one theft area in the store! I say just up security and acutally let the guards tackle these tackle stealing theives.

Re: backing off drag pretty much same as using slower action
Nope The drag can't react nearly as fast as the rod tip does. Think of it like this, you get a bait hung under a rock on the bottom - you can break your line (with your hand) by pulling. Now think of your bait being hung on a flimsey limb - you have a hard time breaking your line because the limb ke...

Re: Bronzeback, LTB, or Team Lews
I have a cumara from when they first came out and one that I bought last year, you can't tell them apart by looking at the eva (foam) grips, no wear at all.
My buddy has a veritas rod and his is wearing considerably.

Re: Bronzeback, LTB, or Team Lews
I would have to reccomend the bronzeback based soley on sensitivity. I know this is not on your list but it is a perfect rod, cumara 6'8'' med x fast. It is light enoug to cast small lures but has tons of backbone for a med rod. They balance nice and are very light. I go G loomis for spinning and do...

Re: Shimano crucial...disapointed
Shimano really doesn't compete in the rod market until you get to the Cumara line, I have two of the cork crucials and they are so so, I have 6 cumara's and also plan to pick up another before they ruin them. I don't know what they were thinking changing up the casting reel lineup, it really makes n...

Drag Question Bantam
Hey Bantam, Do you run your drags dry in the curado? I have been lightly coating them with drag star grease, should I wipe them back down or will it hurt anything?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: citica maintenance
My bet is the anti reverse pawls are too tight or dry, I would also reccomend replacing the drive shaft bushing with a bearing. I really doubt the main gears being bad (especially if you've been regualrly cleaning them with quality grease)
