Re: Abrasion resistant braid.
Nice, I'm looking forward to trying this line. I'm a big PP fan in the first place so this should be great.

Re: Looking for help with P Line
CXX is the only mono/copoly that I fish. IMHO it's great stuff, strong, minimal stretch, abrasion resistant, etc. It does have "memory" but if you're used to XT then it won't be a problem for you, granted I haven't fished any XT in a number of years but they seem about the same in this department to...

Re: Shimano Calais - Why is it not popular?
problem is, they work. that means the average TT'er can't replace them yearly with something newer. and like the Curado D, they aren't super light weight. which means the average TT'er can complain about something that is irrelevant. however, the Calais is one of the, if not the, best Shimano ever ...

Re: Shimano Calais - Why is it not popular?
While I agree that Curado's and Chronarch's are very good reels (especially the Ch) they're not in the same league as the Calais/Antares.

Re: Spinnerbait reel
I owned a 7:1 Zillion some years back, right after their introduction actually, and it was a fine reel. Although I don't remember if I used mine for any spinnerbait fishing I do remember that it seemed to have plenty of power to fish those baits the way you are planning. I'd say go for it, I don't t...

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!
I was able to get out for a few hours yesterday and the weather was very good for this time of year. It was in the mid 50's with no wind to speak of so it made for a nice afternoon on the water. The water was between 48 and 50 degrees depending on location. The area where I caught my fish happened t...

Re: What size hooks on Spro Little John?
I agree, I just received my first ST-35's late last week and the #2 would be slightly to large for this particular bait, IMHO of course. #4's should be perfect. Although I haven't gotten a chance to fish these yet I'm very impressed with them out of the package.

Another vote for the NetBait T-Mac. I use them in a pretty wide range of colors but I'd say 2 of my favorites are A's Magic and Paca Melon.

I'm using the Cumara 7'9" umbrella rig rod, and I really like it too.

Re: ZPI Z-Pride
reel is light as a feather even with handle....I haven't owned a shimano in a long time, so besides the dc7lv this was my only option. The mag system is great, who want to take the sideplate off every lure change lol..... 8-) I never change brake settings on my reels. I have one brake on in 99% of ...
