Black is generally a night time color. I'm interested to hear in people's experiences with it during the day. I threw a black 6" hard swimbait a bit today but the fish showed no interest in it.

Re: Mono suggestions

Question for you guys... You convinced me to try some Super Natural and I'm buying spools 12 and 14 lb test for my spinning reel....a Bradia 2500. One of my applications is dock skipping worms znd flukes. Rod is a Phenix Recon 2, medium, 7-2 long. Fast top. I tried a St Croix with and XF tip but ha...

Re: Which Dobyns Rod? Help!

I really appreciate the info! I will probably go with the advice given. When the time comes I will be in the market for a deep diver rod...which dobyns for that application? I have wanted to give a Dobyns glass rod a try for a long time now and I am told that these are some of the finest crankbait ...

Re: Fluorocarbon Tricks For Baitcaster ?

I tie it to the spool with a san diego jam knot and wind it on however which way. I put the filler spool on the ground and start transfering it on to the reel. If it flips upside down, I leave it that way. I haven't ever had any issues casting fluorocarbon. It might not handle as well as monofilamen...

Re: D@!M IT!!! Now I have to buy a Tatula!

I'm definitely sold on buying one now. What happened to that huge gear we saw a picture of in the other thread though? Umm, that gear was disproportionately blown up to emphasize the fact that the Tatula has a larger drive gear. It's probably at least as large as the gear in a Shimano E-series reel...

Re: Daiwa's "New Species"

What's this wrist casting you're talking about? I bring the rod back, push forward with my right hand, pull back with my left hand, and try to do my best to break the rod mid-cast. :D Haven't had braking issues yet with the Daiwas but I guess I do find the Shimanos a little easier to cast with that ...

same as the curado e series...I can live with that
Yes, but will it palm as nicely as a CU/CH 200
There's no way to know until we try. I'm not worried though, I've never held a low profile that I thought was uncomfortable to palm.

Re: Help Champion or Savvy ?

I'm not a frog guy and haven't fished either of the 735s but I own 1 Savy (704c) and quite a few Champions. The Savvy just doesn't get fished. Every aspect of the Champion is better.

FWIW, I find the handle on the 704 shorter than I like too.

Re: Mono suggestions

Try P-line PF. I've only seen it at TackleWarehouse and I don't have much experience with it yet but so far it has completely exceeded my expectations. It's a little stiffer so it doesn't handle as well as Defier but the knot strength feels better (no tests to back that up) and the abrasion resistan...

Re: TATULA TYPE R

Not really odd I think. As is was explained to me the daiwa rep said that daiwa wants to take over this price points in reels. They want a reel to blow out the citica, curado, and similar priced revos. That has been the case since the second gen Green CU B came out...very little that Daiwa has had t...

Re: Daiwa's "New Species"

Think I'm going to get the 6.4:1 as the first reel. I started off fishing Crazy Crankers for everything. Coming from a saltwater fishing background, it seemed more like the norm. Eventually I made the switch after losing a few fish because I couldn't move enough line. So I've been fishing the 7ish:1...
