Re: Seaguar Smackdown braid
...What these lines did not do is dig. Probably the best handling braid I've ever used. I don't see how it could dig unless you are running a tight drag and trying to free a snag... Agreed. Re: Seaguar Smackdown braid
Smackdown is smooth but I had a lot of breakoffs with 20 lb. A LOT. 20 and 30 lb. were the worst braid I've ever used. They dug in way more than any other braid, were very thin but broke off easily, and just casted horrible. I have 65 lb on my frog setup and it's fantastic. I imagine 50 or 40 would ...

Re: What Tool set is everyone using for reel maintenance?
Wihas are good, I have Bahco which are also great in my mind. HHS bearing removal tool, tweezers set from Amazon, X-acto knife, cheap Stanley adjustable wrench, pair of needle-nose pliers. And an ultrasonic cleaner- those things are fantastic!

I agree with papabassin- all due respect mike & pike I actually prefer the looks of the Fuji keeper! Especially if you get it in a color to match the rod or reel.

Never had one slip or break a band, I've used them for 2 years now.rockchalk06 wrote:How sturdy are they? Do they slip or the bands break very easy?cortman wrote:
I like the Fuji hook keepers a lot, I use them on my GLX rods too since that hook keeper is so tough to use.

Love my SV105 (USDM Alphas). I've not heard many good things about the SS SV, frame flexes and feels hollow are the most common complaints.

Re: 10" Curly Tail Worm
The mag 2 is a 9" thin worm, it's not my top favorite either but I do like it. For a good 10" worm I highly recommend the Zoom Ol' Monster. It's noticeable thicker in body than the Mag 2 and the tail has more meat as well. That's the worm I catch all my good worm bass on. If you're going after real ...

Rockchalk knocking it out of the park. Nice combos. Interested in your opinion of the Curado K and how it holds up to your D series reels.

Re: If you could have only one crankbait...
Same as papabassin for me, I don't fish deeper cranks much at all and I love my Megabass S-Cranks. I prefer the 1.5 size.
I'm also really liking the Ima Bill Loewen squarebill, it's a very shallow diver that works great over submerged weed beds, an area I do fish quite a lot.

Re: Livingston Lures -- What has been your experience
I have only one Livingston jerkbait, caught one fish and that was when I was cranking it back to the shore.
I don't want to just down a company but I'm definitely not sold on them. Build quality and paint jobs seemed fine.
