Re: Better Crank Reel: Antares 12 or Tatula 5.4 with HLC Spo

Well I'm the opposite I've never casted a tatula however I own the Antares and when casting a duo G87 it will cast so far that you probably just have a prayer if you think you could get an effective hook set at the end of one of those cast should a fish hit it. I'm using 12 lb Tatsu with 8 ft Dobyns...

Re: 2016 Shimano Baitcasting Reels

I'm thinking the MGL Met for frogs ! Anyone agree. Without spending the $650 for the DC Antares it looks like the best option

Re: More Parabolic Punch Rod

After my November trip to Florida, I decided I wanted a dedicated punching rod. My research led me to believe a more parabolic action was better. Even the TT review of the Aaron martins flipping stick suggested that a more parabolic rod might be better. My study of rods led me to believe the Dobyns...

Re: NRX 984 vs. ST. Croix 7'4"

So has anyone used the new Hvy 7''4" LE for frogs? Just curious I'm considering one for Frogs/jigs dual purpose. The measurements on The handles on TW show the Croix as having a handle allmost 3" longer. Wonder if that is because the new PTS reel seat is longer than the skeletonized on the NRX.

I chose BPS simply because their crankbait rods are great rods regardless of price

Re: Best rod to throw monster cranks?

806cb Dobyns but the fatigue part IMO is more in the reel,I'm using a 5.5 Chronarch 200e but more importantly I've added a 102mm Hawgtech handle and throwing and retrieving 10XD's is quite effortless on the retrieve

Re: Best fishing line for the specific techniques

I wouldn't use 11lb anything for buzzbaits. Your looking to get your feelings hurt if a big fish or big smallie slams it.

Re: Budget Cranking Rod

I have had and have some high end crackers and IMO that Bass Pro 7'6" medium crankin stick is "A great Rod" for the money I think they are $79 bucks. I also have a Powell max 3d in 7'5" I think . It's prolly on sale somewhere and it's a fantastic crankin rod for the cranks you describe. Just my 2 ce...
